Team “Fishful Thinking” Angle in as Front Runners for Queen of the Bay Fishing Tourney
Team “Fishful Thinking” captained by Ellen Terry of Mechanicsville has put her team as early favorites in the July 27th-30th inaugural Cape Charles Queen of the Bay (QOB) Pier Fishing Tourney. The team, three of which qualify as youth anglers, W. Pierce Terry, Cheaney Terry, and Natalie Wood, were observed pre-fishing during the 4th of July Guppie Tournament off the same Town of Cape Charles pier that will be hosting the QOB event. The young ladies of the team (Cheaney and Natalie) will be chasing down $850 in prize money along with the grand prize tiara and over $700 of in-kind prizes and trophies for tourney sponsors that include Chris’ Bait and Tackle, Shanty, Moonrise Jewelry, Timothy Smith & Sons, and Kelly’s Gingernut Pub.
The QOB is a totally public tournament with $1,000 in prize money evenly distributed among the four major divisions: Open, Lady, Special Angler, and Youth. Additionally, there is a Queen of the Bay Grand Prize Division seeded with $100 and a Military Appreciation Calcutta (unlimited cash purse).
