The Town of Cape Charles wishes to convey the utmost concern for all of its residents, visitors, and business owners as we navigate the current Coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis. Therefore, in the best interest of everyone involved, and to remain in compliance with state and federal direction, effective immediately and until further notice:
- The Cape Charles public beach will be closed, except for exercise and fishing
- Cape Charles’ Central Park will be closed, except for exercise
- The Cape Charles fishing pier will be closed
- All playgrounds and tennis courts will be closed
- All public restrooms will be closed
It is imperative that all unnecessary travel be curtailed and that everyone adhere to the restrictions and stay at home order issued by Governor Northam in Executive Orders 53 and 55.
In keeping with these mandates, the Town of Cape Charles is hereby requesting all visitors to stay home and to reschedule their travel to Cape Charles after this crisis has abated. All short-term rentals and other forms of lodging located within Cape Charles are requested to immediately cease taking reservations until such time state and federal guidance indicates it is safe to do so.
While these actions may prove to be difficult in the short-term, such sacrifices now will only help to protect our community and speed its journey back to the safe and enjoyable experience for which Cape Charles is so well known.
