Bruce Nutter Announces Candidacy for Cheriton Town Council

March 11, 2018 by 1 Comment

For Shore residents that have boats docked in these waters, most have used or are aware of the service provided by Bruce Nutter of Shore Diving and Marine Services. Mr. Nutter announced his intent to seek election to the Cheriton Town Council. Nutter provided this statement to the Mirror:

Bruce Nutter will be running for Cheriton Town Council.

Cheriton is my home, now 5 generations of my family including myself have lived in Cheriton. I know my all of my neighbors and most citizens of the town, I feel that one of the greatest joys is chatting with different people in the town and community. I want to help open the doors to the council meetings and inner workings, get more people involved with the town activities. I also want see good things continue to happen for our town, like bus stops for the kids, creating a bike or walk path into the town, overall be a productive citizen in my community. At times it seems there may be a lack of transparency among small town politics, I want to help remove those barriers.

I was born in Santa Cruz, California and moved to Cheriton at young age with my grandparents, Glen and Essie West Roper. In 2012 I attended Commercial Dive School to become a Commercial Diver. After traveling around the world diving for a time, in 2014 I moved back to the Eastern Shore to be closer to my grandparents. At that time I opened Shore Diving & Marine Services. I also serve as a member on the Cape Charles Town Harbor Board.

Mr. Nutter told the Mirror, “In the end Wayne, I want to get the point across that I want to make a difference and help make our town better, we don’t need or want Drama to take over, we are a Small Town with a Big Heart and I want to help keep it that way with out all all the negative context.”
