Can we get you a Soft Coup with that?

June 17, 2018 by 1 Comment

Spies. Informants. “Lures.” “Insurance policy.” Phony dossier. Set-ups. “We’ll stop” Trump. Withheld docs/texts. Bogus allegations of “collusion.” Is this evidence of the soft coup against the President? How much did Obama know, and at what lengths was he willing to go to protect “The Legacy”?

On Thursday, two House committees revealed that “foreign actors” accessed Hillary Clinton’s emails, including one “secret” email, from her private server. According to Fox News:

Fox News obtained the memo prepared by the House Judiciary and Oversight committees, which lays out key interim findings ahead of next week’s hearing with Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz. … “Documents provided to the Committees show foreign actors obtained access to some of Mrs. Clinton’s emails — including at least one email classified ‘Secret,'” the memo says, adding that foreign actors also accessed the private accounts of some Clinton staffers.

It is unclear who the foreign actors are or what was in the emails. But the report states that the information could “reasonably be expected to cause serious damage to the national security.” Fox News has also been given an email from May 2016 from embattled FBI agent Peter Strzok — the same Peter Strzok who texted his lover in August that he would “stop” President Trump from gaining the Oval Office — showing that “we know foreign actors obtained access…via compromises of the private email accounts [of Clinton staffers].”

Combined with this revelation about Strzok’s texts, it looks an awful lot like the FBI did, in fact, have an operative political bias in its Hillary investigation — and it’s difficult to understand why the IG report would clear the FBI of political bias altogether.

The IG report notes a text from FBI agent Peter Strzok to his lover, FBI agent Lisa Page. Here’s the exchange, circa August 2016:

Page: [Trump’s] not ever going to become president, right? Right?!

Strzok: No. No he won’t. We’ll stop it.

WE’LL STOP IT?

The text message offers the motivations of Strzok and Page and lends serious credibility to the contention that when Strzok spoke of the Russia investigation as an “insurance policy” against Trump’s presidency, he was serious. This is an explicit admission that high-ranking actors in the FBI saw preventing Trump’s presidency as paramount. This text from Strzok to Page could damage whatever faith that America still had in the legitimacy of the Russia investigation.

What is with this “reasonably be expected to cause serious damage to the national security” crap we are always being barraged with these days in this country?

How pathetically weak that makes us sound as a nation.

We’re supposed to be the world superpower.

So what is this “serious damage” that could possibly be caused by anything?

And really read that phrase over and over a couple of times, and then see what sense it might mean with these words: “reasonably be expected to cause . . .”

And ask yourself, “reasonably be expected” by exactly whom?

Certainly not the American people is my thought.
