If you owe delinquent taxes to the town of Cape Charles, you will be in for a rude awakening the next time you visit the DMV. As of July 1st, the Treasurer’s office will begin processing DMV Registration Withholding “Stop” requests on those personal property tax accounts which are in a delinquent status. You will not be able to obtain a license, tags, or registrations until taxes are paid.
You will also be hammered with additional fees.
DMV charges $20 currently to remove a stop. The DMV fee will be $25 as of September 1, 2017. It is lawful for the processing government agency (Cape Charles) to charge an administrative fee of up to $25. The total fee will be $50.

Okay ,now what about the businesses that owe back taxes.What are you going to implement on them ? Don’t just go after the little guy make it across the board.

How would one get to work to make money to pay the taxes if their ‘license, tags, or registrations’ were suspended??? It amazes me how often in a Democracy, the people accept a Dictatorship. What a sick, twisted world we have created.
