Cape Charles Responds to FOIA Requests

February 7, 2021 by Wayne Creed Leave a Comment

The town received FOIA requests for documents that were distributed by the town manager during the January 21 Town Council meeting regarding the proposed harbor rates. The requesters were directed to the Town’s website and Facebook since the forms were uploaded on Thursday night following the meeting

A FOIA request from American Transparency was received on January 28 asking for a listing of all employees of the Town during calendar year 2020, hire date, base salary amount, bonus amount, overtime amount, gross annual wages and position title. This is a request comes in year.

The request was forwarded to HR Manager Jodi Outland. Due to the amount of information requested and timing of the request, the town has invoked subsection B4 of Code of Virginia § 2.2-3704 which will cushion the request with several additional working days to respond.
