Cape Charles Sailing Camp Sets Sail

July 28, 2019 by Wayne Creed 1 Comment

Cape Charles Sailing Camp finished its first week of sailing camp and are happy to announce that both offerings this summer are booked full with more kids and adults interested in lessons. CCSC is a sailing program offering lessons to all.

They are offering the second camp this week at Oyster farm, Monday-Friday 9-12:30.

Cape Charles Community Sailing is dedicated to making sailing available and affordable to families that live in our home waters along Virginia’s Eastern Shore. The Sailing Camp’s goal is to promote a fun, safe, and educational environment to instill a life long love for sailing in our youth. The skills learned will serve them well throughout their life by promoting sportsmanship, fostering teamwork, and strengthening respect for oneself and others.

This is the inaugural year for the Cape Charles Sailing Camp. With the beautiful sailing location of Cape Charles, it is a perfect place for a community sailing program. For the first year, the camp will operate the last two weeks of July, with a plan to expand to more weeks and adult classes in the future.

The camp will be located on F dock at the Oyster Farm Marina featuring Sunfish sailboats. The camp offers classes for all skill levels. Sailors range from 8-17 years old and do not need to have any formal training prior to enrollment. Give your child the unique opportunity to make new friends, learn to sail and gain confidence and independence on the water.

We scheduled lessons for our visiting grandchildren and they loved the experience. The instructors are wonderful with the kids and very knowledgeable. I think the lessons inspired the kids to want to pursue the sport further! Thank you, Hannah!
