Felony charges of abduction and brandishing a firearm against Granville Hogg were dropped this week in Northampton General District Court.
Accomack County Attorney Spencer Morgan said that both sides had been working together, attempting ‘de-escalate’ the situation.
Attorney Morgan was 20 minutes late for the trial before asking that the felony charges be dropped.
Hogg will be required to complete a gun safety course. He was also ordered to apologize to the delivery drivers, which he did on Tuesday.
In September, the “delivery drivers” claimed to be Fed Ex employees, but the truck was not marked as Fed EX, it was only a Penske rental. The drivers entered the property twice, after leaving the first time. When Mr. Hogg stopped them the second time they passed a posted ‘No Trespassing’ sign, they told him they were making a delivery, however, the delivery location was miles away from Mr. Hogg’s address, off of seaside near Oyster.
When Hogg held the driver while awaiting the police, the driver of the vehicle told Mr. Hogg he also had a concealed carry permit, inferring that he had a weapon in the truck with him.
As far as ‘de-escalating’, one has to wonder why Commonwealth’s Attorney Spencer Morgan added a second felony charge against Hogg, or even why this case made it into the court system in the first place. There seem to be investigations and reports into almost anything these days. Whether the legal system was weaponized against Hogg for political reasons would seem to be a legitimate case to investigate.

Spencer Morgan seems to be a big fish in a little pond. Never to survive off the shore.

It would seem to me The County Attorney, Spencer Morgan, does not have enough to do.
Leo Savage says
Someone should look into the oranges of the case.

Charges were not dropped against Sandy Mayer who kicked a dog because he was walking off the leash. That behavior is how many, if any, generations removed from white trash? ESSO my ASSO.
