Chesapeake Bay Foundation fully supports Jay Ford’s attack on small, coastal business

August 9, 2020 by Wayne Creed 7 Comments

Canceled” is what happens to you when the court of self-anointed decides that something you’ve said or done at any time in your life is unacceptable by today’s social and moral standards. Cancelers call for boycotts of your shows, business or products, demand that you be fired from your place of employment, command that you be de-platformed from social media, and pressure anyone associated with you to disavow you. They take no prisoners.

I’m unsure how this ‘fight racism with racism’ and ‘fight fascism with fascism’ strategies are supposed to succeed in anything but destruction and chaos.

This brings us to the actions of Jay Ford, Janet Sturgis, and Margaret Van Cleaf, who attempted to use social media in a networked attempt to destroy a local, coastal business in Cape Charles, Virginia.

The most chilling aspect is that Jay Ford’s employer, the Chesapeake Bay Foundation fully supports the attack and destruction of small businesses here on the Shore:

There you have it.

Is the CBF an environmental non-profit, or a social justice non-profit. It appears they are not that proficient in either one.

President Baker was, however, caught in a little fib. He claims Ford is fighting for racial inequity on his own time. But timestamps on the Facebook posts clearly show Ford is on the platform during normal working hours. So either he works the night shift, has odd hours, or was planning the boycott against Kelly’s while on the clock with CBF. The same goes for Van Cleaf.

So, not only does the Chesapeake Bay Foundation support attacking coastal businesses, they are paying employees to do so. Let that sink in.

Do CBF’s donors also feel the same way?

If I am not mistaken, the CBF gets federal taxpayer dollars to fund the activities of Pope Ford.

Google the question, “Does the Chesapeake Bay Foundation receive federal funding” and this is the answer I got:

The programs are funded through the Federal Farm Bill.

So why is the federal government using OUR tax dollars to fund the efforts of Pope Ford to destroy an American citizen and his livelihood?

How is it the mission of the Chesapeake Bay Foundation to attack local businesses who are doing nothing to hurt the health of the BAY? Sounds like another Liberal Bait and Switch like Planned Parenthood contributing taxpayer funds to support the Democrat Party. We need to ensure that our tax dollars are not used for political purposes!

Just because a liberal organization supports liberal activity by their liberal employees does not justify this Liberal Coward Ford’s actions.

But, they may want to check with the Black Community Leaders,,,LOL!

Absolutely apparent these groups have lost focus and have become hate groups that attack elderly, “Rural Racist” whoever that is and all others they don’t agree with. Yet they preach the almighty religion of tolerance and inclusion. Sad.

One would think that this issue of federal funds going to an organization that is engaged in a campaign to destroy an American citizen’s life and livelihood for him daring to use his First Amendment right to have and express an opinion would be something that Congresswoman Luria would be hot to jump right on as a blatant and flagrant mis-use of federal tax dollars.

With respect to the CBF receiving federal taxpayer dollars, their FINANCIAL OVERVIEW FISCAL YEAR ENDING JUNE 30, 2019 lists Grants & Gifts as $21,247, 286.

If one then goes to their Form 990 (2018) Part VIII, Statement of Revenue, one finds in the upper left hand corner in 1e the following figure for “government grants” the sum of $1,568,624.
