Chincoteague Island Library invites residents to visit the Library during National Library Week April 9-14

This is a special invitation to visit the Chincoteague Island Library

From April 9-14 the Chincoteague Island Library encourages new visitors as well as old friends to stop in to the Library during “Locals Week at the Library” in coordination with National Library Week. Everyone who stops in will have the opportunity to enter a free drawing for a tote full of great gifts including gift certificates to local merchants and Library goodies valued at approximately $200.00. Special guided tours of the Library, highlighting the history and offerings of the Library will be offered on Tuesday, April 10 at 2:00 PM and Thursday, April 12 at 3:00 PM.

April 9-14 is National Library Week, a time to highlight the role of libraries as leaders in the community. Residents and visitors as well as elected officials, small business owners, & students depend upon the library and the resources it provides.

“The Library helps lead our community by offering widespread assess to crucial services, unlimited opportunities for personal growth and lifelong learning,” said Linda Ryan, President of the Chincoteague Island Library Board of Directors. “The Library is excited to offer new programs for individuals of all ages. We hope that the residents of Chincoteague Island as well as the surrounding communities will stop in during this special week to learn more about what the Library has to offer year round.”

The Chincoteague Island Library is celebrating National Library Week by inviting residents to make a special trip to the Library to see what is new, tour the Library and submit their name free for a chance to win a of tote bag filled with gift certificates and wonderful Library goodies.

First sponsored in 1958, National Library Week is a national observance sponsored by the American Library Association (ALA) and libraries across the country each April.
