The Shore Daily News reported this week that a citizen of Accomack County was convicted of trashing a Trump campaign sign. The case was held in Northampton County court Thursday.
The defendant claimed “political satire, personal hardship due to pandemic and lack of work.” There was one eye witness to the crime.
The man was fined $250 and court cost.

Ye “citizens of Accomack” trash not any Trump signs, for the time is fast approaching when ye will rue the day you cast your ballots against him!

It may seem a trivial thing to many, but the destruction of a political sign can be a very personal thing. Sadly, many small signs for both sides were stolen. Some of these political signs are given to the local chapter by the state and national money, but many of the larger signs are actually paid for and installed by local members of whichever party. That’s me. I handed hard earned cash over and paid for a rather large sign. Destroying my sign is the exact same thing as throwing a rock through my front window. Add to that it’s stealing my right to free speech. I don’t like it. I know the little weasel that was convicted of this destruction. He’s no young kid. I think he should have had to serve community service also. He’s got no job and has the time. He’s lucky I didn’t catch him trashing my sign. He would have learned what grandpa taught me happens out behind the woodpile.

Scotiagirl agrees, one might as well steal flowers off a grave. Those who are paying attention will soon realize that displays of political views from ALL sides will soon be verboten.
