Machipongo resident David Kabler is a candidate for Northampton County Board of Supervisor from District 4. A 30-year Shore resident, he is a graduate of Randolph-Macon College, raised his 5 children on the Shore, all graduates of Northampton High School, and is a REALTOR® in Cape Charles. Kabler is a 3-term member and present Chair of the Northampton County Parks and Recreation Advisory Board, member of the Cape Charles Rotary and The Eastern Shore Association of Realtors, and serves in the US Coast Guard Auxiliary. He has served on the Northampton County Planning Commission, the Sandbridge Volunteer Fire and Rescue Brigade, the Boards of Operation Smile and the Norfolk Zoo and Botanical Gardens, and received the 1987 Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce Small Business of the Year award.
For decades Kabler has been an active supporter of Northampton County, and an outspoken critic of government actions to weaken land use protections for the residents and the assets of the county. He is committed to the revitalization of small towns and villages, preservation of the rural character, protection of natural resources, development of a skilled work force, and he will continue to oppose the spread of industrial poultry farms into the county. His other priorities include improving education and technical training, open and transparent government, and the health, safety and well-being of all county residents.
Kabler will participate in the CBES Candidate Forum, Thursday, Oct 17, 6:30 pm at Occohannock Elementary School, Exmore.
