Special to the Mirror by Clarice MacGarvey
Exmore, VA (February 17, 2015)— With an ongoing focus on providing more amenities and services for its residents, the Town of Exmore has announced the recent installation of broadband wireless internet throughout the Exmore Town Park, located on Main Street. The broadband, provided free to the Town of Exmore, courtesy of the Eastern Shore of Virginia Broadband Authority, is accessible from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., without charge, to anyone visiting the park during these hours.
“Improving the experience of living, working and playing in Exmore is central to everything we do,” says Exmore Mayor Doug Greer. “Special thanks to the ESVA Broadband Authority for making it possible for us to add high-speed broadband to the Town Park. This levels the playing field for many individuals who might not have access reliable internet service otherwise, including students.”
Park facilities continue to expand. This spring, the Town of Exmore will cut the ribbon on a newly completed multiuse building in the Town Park. The 36” x 60’ structure, equipped with electrical outlets and retractable doors, will be available for use by individuals and organizations, based on reservations. An adjacent 16’ x 20’ performance stage is currently receiving final touches.
“We invite everyone to come out and enjoy Exmore and test our broadband,” adds Mayor Greer. “The park is equipped with benches and picnic tables for those who want to work or study.”
