Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel sees its first toll increase in five years:
- Peak season times will increase to $18, up from $16. E-ZPass customers can do a return trip within 24 hours for $2, which is actually a decrease from $3
- Off-peak season times will increase to $14, up from $13. E-ZPass customers can do a return trip within 24 hours for $6, up from $5.
Peak season pricing is Friday through Sunday, from May 15 through September 15. Off-peak season pricing is all other times.
The toll rates due to a resolution first adopted in 2013, which states tolls on the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel will increase approximately 10 percent every five years, to help fund the Parallel Thimble Shoal Project.
