July 4th Activities reduced due to Covid-19

June 21, 2020 by Wayne Creed 1 Comment

Most of the July 4 activities have been canceled throughout the region due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Cape Charles Town Council will be discussed the July 4 activities to cancel most activities except for the golf cart parade.

Town Manager John Hozey told the Mirror, “As the Mayor said, our “typical” 4th of July celebration has been canceled this year since we would not be able to remain within the Governor’s COVID-19 restrictions to do so. But the Mayor and Council really wanted to do something for our residents to mark the day. So similar to the golf cart graduation parade we had in town, we’ll be organizing a 4th of July patriotic golf cart parade. This will be limited to only golf carts and will wind through most of town to allow residents and visitors to view it mostly from their porches. This parade will start at 10 am, and we’ll be putting out more details soon. The Town will not have any other planned 4th of July activities this year.”

    WAIT!

    STOP!

The 4th of July is a racist holiday, and the word “patriotic” has racist overtones, so there should be no “patriotic” parade, as it will upset and offend the sensibilities of the “decent” people here in America.

Bring a bunch of American flags down to the beach instead and burn them.

And make Cape Charles into an autonomous zone!

Get with the times, for they have changed!
