Terrible! So relieved that our block is in good shape. Mason is OK too, so we can go for coffee and ice cream – and shop!

I recognize a lot of these photos as being from the area around Monroe and Plum, but can someone identify the location of the rest, please? We actually went out walking in that area this morning and saw two hearty souls kayaking down Plum Street!

Plum and Monroe, Madison near the old school.

Wow I used to live on Tazwell Ave, I can’t believe the water got that far. I do hope everyone was safe.

I am curious as to why there are no storm drains in the area that flooded. We did receive an unusual amount of rain with this storm, and no drain would have completely taken care of it, but a drain certainly would have helped as far as how deep the water got around Central Park.

The areaS that flooded. We drove (carefully and slowly) on Bay and attempted to turn on cross streets starting with Randolph; we had to turn back within the first block most of the time – disaster tourists that we are. I can only imagine what the basements looked like (I would opt for David Gay’s expensive, expedient, but permanent solution: cement to the level of the crawl space – correct me if I’m wrong please, David).

It is important to clear falling leaves and get rid of the grass on the side of the road. Not pleased to use herbicide, but there shouldn’t be a leaf of grass living on the road in front of our house.

As most as the locals know that street has always flooded in a rain storm.. even when we went to school it flooded. Always has… Still cant understand with all the improvements over to yrs in CC why wasnt this ever fixed? But I can say never seen it this high in a very long time..
