The following is the first in a series of articles which will introduce the residents of Cape Charles to their newest neighbors. In the spirit of community and friendship, these articles will help us to extend a warm welcome to our new community members. If you are a new resident who would like to be included in this series or have recently acquired a new neighbor that you would like us to get to know, please email the Mirror at capecharlesmirror@gmail.com, and we will be in touch.
SUSAN CARRIGAN moved into her home at 530 Tazewell Ave in August. Born and raised in New Jersey, Susan has moved out of state for the first time and plans to live in Cape Charles full time. Her most recent residence was in Basking Ridge, NJ, a large commuter town close to Newark. She chose Cape Charles because of her love of the beach (she’s already claimed her favorite spot where she can settle down to read and watch the sunset) and the close proximity to her son, Gregory, and his family who live in Hayes, VA near Gloucester Point. Gregory, works for the Coast Guard out of Portsmouth and is married with two sons.
Susan has recently retired from a law firm where she worked as an office manager/paralegal. She plans to spend her time settling into her home, gardening, reading and generally enjoying the out of doors. Having been the happy owner of, Cloie, a Standard Poodle who she lost a couple of years ago, Susan is looking forward to getting another Standard as soon as she is able. She is also exploring the possibility of taking up golf again after being away from the game for several years.
Welcome, Susan. We know you are going to love Cape Charles and the Virginia Eastern Shore!
