The new four-minute film by Jim Baugh highlights four never before published dark sky sites ranging from Bortle class 1 – 4. The locations are Magothy Bay, Wachapreague, Cape Charles, and Red Bank. Principle photography began early March and ran through June 21st, 2019.
Time lapse film of the Eastern Shore for the locations featured was filmed over a span of four years. Over 20,000 images were captured in order to create four Milky Way Time Lapse segments. Additionally, an aerial film of each location was produced by Mermaid Bay AIR. The project was filmed in 4k and distributed in High Definition.
These new premier dark sky sites are among the very few on the East Coast and each location is open to the general public and is easily accessible by car. No hiking or camping required.
The film was produced by award-winning veteran television producer Jim Baugh, Mermaid Bay Media Productions LLC, Mermaid Bay AIR, and Jim Baugh Outdoors TV.
Soundtrack “Nightscapes” for piano & organ composed and performed by Jim Baugh.
