Barbara O’Hare met with Town Council Thursday to propose the creation of a tree board to provide advice and guidance on the selection, preservation, protection, and management of the town’s tree canopy.
In 2017, the town updated the Tree Survey and adopted recommended strategies from the 2018 UVA study for Conserving the Green Infrastructure of Cape Charles.
The group would act as a special advisory committee to the town council and would make decisions such as the selection of trees that provide native resiliency. The board would also review the removal and replacement of existing trees.
Next steps would be to work with the Planning Commission to flush out requirements.

Well that sounds like a really good idea for public property. A true positive.
PLEASE let’s just not have the “tree police” coming into people’s yards with rules and regs.

Stupidest idea EVER!! Just another way to try to intrude on the citizens of Cape Charles. If you don’t like things here, why did you come here? Why not go back where you came from? A tree board? Really???
