The New York Senate passed a radical pro-abortion bill Tuesday that would allow unborn babies to be aborted for basically any reason up to birth.
The legislation goes beyond Roe v. Wade, allowing abortions even when the Supreme Court has said states may regulate them, according to the pro-life leaders. Late-term abortions, which currently are illegal in New York, would be allowed, and non-doctors would be allowed to perform them.
The bill appears to restrict late-term abortions, but it adds a broad “health” exception for abortions after 24 weeks. The exception would allow women to abort unborn babies up to nine months of pregnancy for “age, economic, social and emotional factors, rather than the biological definition of ‘health’ that normally comes to mind.
The bill, dubbed the Reproductive Health Act, redefines a “person” as “a human being who has been born and is alive,” and describes abortion as a “fundamental right.” This language will allow unborn babies to be aborted for basically any reason up to birth in New York.
The new law only makes late-term abortion legal in cases where it will save the mother’s life. The problem with this argument is that it allows for abortions to protect the woman’s life “and health.” What does “health” mean? Well, anything. The law conspicuously avoids defining the term. It seems that any kind of health concern would qualify — physical health, emotional health, psychological health, financial health. The point is that the “life and health” stipulation will not effectively prevent any woman from getting an abortion for any reason at any time.
Paradoxically, it appears the law may allow for an abortion based on “mental health” issues. That is, the mother is mentally unstable and poses a threat postpartum, the baby may be aborted–that is, we don’t want anything to happen to the baby after birth, so we’ll kill it ahead of
Also, late-term abortion is generally not to protect a woman’s life or health. Late-term abortion is usually not medically necessary. It could be necessary, in the case of some kind of cataclysmic complication, to remove the child from his mother’s womb. But it is never necessary to kill the baby. There is no medical reason to take that extra step of preemptively killing the baby.
As a note, here is how abortion just legalized in New York — is carried out: the baby is injected with a poison directly into his skull or torso. It then suffers a painful death, which is felt because of the developed nervous system. The mother carries the corpse around in her womb for a day. The next day, there is an ultrasound to check if the baby is dead. If it isn’t — if it has been
The crucial fact is that a delivery must happen either way. If a mother in the third trimester decides she doesn’t want or can’t have her baby inside her, she is going to have to deliver him one way or another. The only question is whether she will deliver a dead child or a living one. Giving a lethal injection to the child may be the more convenient route, but it is certainly not the safer or healthier or more necessary one.

In talking about the corrupt third-word ****-hole of New York, where Democratic Socialist governor Young Andy Cuomo, son of Mario and brother to Chris of the Cuomo News Network, now acts like Hitler on the Hudson , or our Caesar, it is important to note that we now have one-party rule in this corrupt ****-hole, with the Democrats/Democratic Socialists in charge of the whole shooting match.
There was recently an article in the upstate Albany Times Union entitled “The Californication of New York: New laws may change life as we know it – The days of Albany gridlock are over” by Rachel Silberstein updated Friday, January 18, 2019 which gives a good indication of how that came to be, and where we are heading, as follows:
ALBANY — The change demanded by New Yorkers at the ballot box is unfolding fast.
end quotes
When that article talks about “New Yorkers,” it is really talking about people in New York City, because the majority of the rest of the state, which is rural except for a few cities like Albany, which has been under tight Democratic control since the end of WWII, and Syracuse and Rochester and Buffalo, is not for Young Andy and his plans to turn New York into an east-coast version of Nancy Pelosi’s California, but it matters not, since we have no voice in this state, being greatly outweighed by the people in New York City.
Just as Nancy Pelosi gets all of her political power from her congressional district, which is only the City of San Francisco, Young Andy gets his power from New York City, and it is to them that he panders, and the rest of us can go pound sand.
And there is no way for us voiceless persons who are in every sense of the word second-class citizens in this state which has just voted to use state taxpayer money to give college scholarships to illegal immigrants, since they are the new darlings of the Democrats/Democratic Socialists, since like King George III before him, Young Andy controls the courts through his hand-picked judges who are loyal to him, as he is the law in this corrupt ****-hole.
Another companion program of Young Andy’s is to legitimize drug dealing by the “communities of color” in New York state which now largely dominate the trade, which trade is a big business in Young Andy’s corrupt capital city of Albany, as can be seen from that same article as follows:
There is some debate over where the revenue should be directed, but there seems to be support for communities of color, which have been disproportionately targeted by law enforcement agencies, benefiting from cannabis-related business opportunities or receipt of the revenues.
“Let’s create an industry that empowers the poor communities that pay the price and not the rich corporations who come in to make a profit,” Cuomo said in his budget address.

It is better to be a criminal or illegal alien in New York state than it is to be a citizen of the state outside of New York, as they get the “BETTER DEAL” since they can be depended on to vote solidly Democrat, the party of the people.
In a word, this is no longer America anymore up here, and as to the word “health,” it has been a meaningless concept up here since “Big Mario,” or “Ol’ Pappy” as he was affectionately known, was governor back in the 80’s.
A friend says
I’ve never known a woman who did not regret aborting her child. They count the birthdays the child would have had, and suffer great anguish over their past decision. Personally, I believe the decision to abort a child is between the mother and her God.
Additionally, if it is agreed that both mother and father (married or not) are equally responsible for a child (child-support and etc.), should they both not have the same authority to decide whether the child should live or die? If you say that a woman has the right to control her own body…she also had that same right at the time of conception.
Stuart Bell says
A man and a woman get together and both decide to have sex. The woman then becomes pregnant and only she can decide if the baby will be killed or live. At this point the father has no say whatsoever. She, alone, decides that their baby should live. Since she has chosen not to have her baby killed, she has the Authority Having Jurisdiction make the father pay child support….If she had chosen to have her baby killed, the father could not press murder charges. Typical Liberal Evilness. Bass-Ackwards.
This is Madness. Another Liberal Wet Dream.
Loraine Huchler says
Governor Northam is intent on following the lead of Governor Cuomo to make late-term abortion broadly legal for the woman’s life and health. Every Virginian, no matter what their political persuasion, should be concerned when their Governor makes it clear that he is not interested in serving the citizens of Virginia, saying
“So when can’t change peoples minds, we need to change seats,” said Governor Northam, speaking to the upcoming November elections.
How is it that Virginians elected a governor asserts that the legislature can make laws without the consent of the governed?
Finally, how is it that someone who commits a violent act against a pregnant woman that results in the death of the fetus (regardless of the mother’s injury or death) – at any time in the pregnancy – but most especially in the 3rd trimester when the fetus is viable – can be prosecuted for a Class 2 felony (life imprisonment or min 20 yrs). (see excerpt below)
Va. Code § 18.2-32.2 (2004) declares that any person who unlawfully, willfully, deliberately, maliciously and with premeditation kills a fetus is guilty of a Class 2 felony. The law also provides penalties.
2012 Va. Acts, Chap. 725 (SB 674) provides that in cases of fetal death (as defined by § 32.1-249) caused by a wrongful act, neglect or default of any person, ship, vessel or corporation, the natural mother of the fetus may bring an action against such tortfeasor. No cause of action for the death of the fetus may be brought against the mother of the fetus.
Should this law pass – a woman could wait and wait and finally decide to abort her fetus in the 3rd trimester without any penalty – except the incredible emotional distress of the procedure that requires injection of a poison into the base of the fetus’ skull and waiting 24 – 48 hours to confirm the death of the fetus and induce labor to deliver the dead fetus. What woman in her right mind would choose this path if it was not medically necessary (which is already legal)? How is it that our lawmakers have such a warped view of morality and individual responsibility?
Paul Plante says
There, Loraine, is an excellent question in your last sentence, but it makes several presumptions, one of which is that these politicians are not simply sociopaths, or what are known as functioning psychopaths for whom human life has no value whatsoever.
Barack Hussein Obama and Hillary Clinton and Democratic Socialist governor of New York Young Andy Cuomo are held to be examples of functioning psychopaths, and your governor may well be one, too.
In an essay entitled “High-functioning Sociopaths and the Damage They Cause” by Tanya J. Peterson, for example, we have this to consider:
There are sociopaths in our midst.
Some of them are high-functioning sociopaths.
High-functioning or not, all lack empathy.
All are antisocial; they ignore the rules and laws of society so they can live by their own norms.
Cold, callus, and calculating, they stop at nothing to get what they want, and they are impervious to consequences and punishment.
end quotes
That statement about “impervious to consequences” applies to how many of our “politicians” in this country today?
As to a high-functioning sociopath, the essay continues as follows”
The term “high-functioning” is a descriptor rather than a diagnosis and isn’t part of the diagnostic label for antisocial personality disorder (the official name for what is popularly called sociopathy).
Highly functioning sociopaths are adept at morphing themselves into what people want to see, and they very quickly learn what makes people tick, and they know just how to engineer and oil the clock.
This type of sociopath has superior intelligence, as demonstrated by observed behavior and IQ tests; possesses impeccable social skills and exudes charm; often comes from a strong family background; is driven—she knows what she wants, and she knows how to get it; is calculating, cleverly assessing a situation and purposely planning action; is patient and willing to work people and situations until the time is right for her to make her move.
These traits make a high-functioning sociopath formidable.
She remains at least several moves ahead of the rest of society, and no one suspects a thing.
Whatever it is she wants, she is likely to get it.
No sociopath particularly likes people.
They see them as mere objects to be toyed with, used, and then dismissed or disposed of.
High-functioning sociopaths are better opportunists.
They can blend into any environment and adopt the traits needed to con.
A high-functioning sociopath is great at what he or she does, and can cause physical, emotional, and financial damage to anyone he or she so chooses.

Does Governor Northam fit into that category?
And how would you be able to tell the difference?

Thank you so much, Wayne, for this powerful piece. I had read other articles about this evil legislation in New York, but those articles stopped short of the wisdom you share in the last paragraph of your article: the baby will be delivered one way or the other, it’s just a question of whether it is delivered dead or alive. People need to be educated about exactly what this legislation means, before it becomes a reality here in Virginia. It is not anything that one would choose to think about, but one needs to be educated about things like this, so that one can make an educated choice in an election. Elections do have consequences. Thank you, Wayne. This cannot have been an easy piece to write.
