No Walk-ins for Oct 22 CBES Bike Tour, Only 18 Slots Left!

October 17, 2016 by Wayne Creed 3 Comments

Due to a near sellout, there will be no walk-in registrations for the 2016 Annual Between the Waters Bike Tour on Saturday, October 22. Online registrations will be available until the remaining slots are filled through www.cbes.org. As of October 15 there were only 18 slots remaining.

between_waters_bike_tourThis is the 24 th year for the bi-county tour organized by Citizens for a Better Eastern Shore. It is the major fundraiser for the non-profit CBES as well as an ecotourism event that brings thousands of dollars into the Eastern Shore community each fall through lodging and visitor spending.

This year marks the first in the tour’s history to hit 1,000 registered riders. Designed for all skill levels, it has four, flat routes 100 miles – 60 – 40 -25. Included in the registration is a full picnic lunch, stocked rest stops, expertly marked routes and cue sheets, SAG, and free commemorative T-shirt. The tour has a loyal following with riders returning year after year.

Wachapreague is the 2016 host town and also an Anchor Sponsor of the bike tour which each year rotates routes between four locations. Other Anchor Sponsors are New Ravenna and Dominion. CBES appreciates these sponsors and Presenting Sponsors, Sunset Beach Resort and Coastal Virginia Magazine for supporting “Pedal to Protect Virginia’s Eastern Shore.”
