Northampton, Exmore Approve 2nd Amendment Resolutions

December 15, 2019 by Wayne Creed 6 Comments

At Tuesday’s Northampton County Board of Supervisors Regular Meeting, the board unanimously approved a resolution of support for the 2nd Amendment of the Constitution.

The resolution, which “urges the Governor and members of the General Assembly to take no action which would violate the freedoms in both constitutions,” is similar to others adopted across Virginia, but stops short of 2nd Amendment Sanctuary status.

Much of the response has to due to Gov. Ralph Northam’s proposal to tighten gun-control measures.

Locally, theTown of Exmore adopted a resolution to be recognized as a sanctuary town–they vow not to use tax dollars to enforce new gun laws.

Hey, remember back when the Democrats said no one was going to take our guns from us? You know, BEFORE they took complete control of the state government.

    Good times, good times.

I don’t own a gun. I am getting closer to buying one, or three, for personal protection. I don’t know which part of the house I’ll be in when/if some s.o.b. breaks in and I plan to take the 1st 6 shots.
I have no idea why any governor would think he or she has the right to create a state law that is contrary to a federal one. Sadly, I think the resolutions being passed around the Commonwealth should never have to be considered, much less voted upon or sent to Richmond. I think Va. should have legislation that immediately tosses any legislator, Governor included, out of office for any proposal that is contrary to federal law, or the U.S. Constitution. You know, much the same way I’d toss him out of the boat if he came out with us and tried to tell us how to get the job done.
Federal law is the job of our U.S. Congress.
What a conceited and bullying control freak Ralph is showing himself to be.
Yeah, I also realize he is testing the waters for the democrat party to see what legislation they can propose everywhere. A term limit governor is the best person for that job in their eyes, and he’s supporting the party. I wonder what his post-office appointment will be for it ?
What job are the democrat party leaders promising you Ralph ?

Just to be sure I understand what you’re saying :

If you were out at sea with someone who disagreed with you , you would throw that person overboard .

Would you alert the Coast Guard or next of kin ?

Remember when the Democrats said if you like your health care provider you can keep them. When they said you will save $2000 per family on healthcare. All they do is lie.
