September 29, 2019 by Wayne Creed Leave a Comment

Eastern Shore Own (ESO) Live on the Lawn on the ESO grounds, 15293 King Street in Belle Haven presents a unique concert in collaboration with the Orchestra of the Eastern Shore and The U.S. Navy Fleet Forces’ Woodwind Quintet. The event is a fundraiser for the Orchestra and ESO. Free admission to all. Cash bar available. The Orchestra of the Eastern Shore will perform selected works from its upcoming October concerts – see below. The U.S. Navy Fleet Forces’ Woodwind Quintet will present a varied program. The quintet combines the unique sounds of flute, oboe, clarinet, French horn and bassoon to create a wind instrumental version of the classical string quartet.

Friday October 25 at 7:30 at Cokesbury Church in Onancock

Saturday October 26 at 4:00 at Cokesbury Church in Onancock

Sunday October 27 at 4:00 at Hungars Church in Bridgetown/Machipongo

The concerts will feature Schubert’s Mass in G Major with vocal soloists and chorus joining the orchestra, in addition to shorter orchestral works by Handel, Bach, Massenet, Hovhaness and Mendelssohn. The Cokesbury performances will honor Anne Nock for her long support of the orchestra and contributions to life on the Eastern Shore. The Hungars performance will honor Rev. Harry Crandall, beloved longtime rector of Hungars Church and his many years of active service on the Eastern Shore.  For complete details see our website, orchestraes.org.
