Special to the Cape Charles Mirror by Paul Plante.
With respect to the statement of United States senator from New York and prodigious Democrat fundraiser Charley “Chuck” Schumer, the Democrat big dog today in the United States senate, jn the ASSOCIATED PRESS story “Promising ‘A Better Deal,’ Democrats try to rebrand party” by Erica Werner, AP Congressional Correspondent, 25 July 2017, that “Too many Americans don’t know what we stand for,” a review of past issues of the Cape Charles Mirror, which has done yeoman service to the American people by letting the voices of the common people be heard on these matters of importance to us as citizens of this Republic, puts the lie to that statement, and shows that either Charley “Chuck” Schumer himself is quite ignorant of the reality that those of us who are not Democrat politicians occupy, or he insultingly thinks we are too ignorant to know the difference.
If one googles “Cape Charles Mirror, Democrat Manifesto,” the first story to come up is as follows:
Northampton County Democrats: Pretty Vacant? – Cape Charles Mirror
http://www.capecharlesmirror.com/news/northampton-county-democrats-pretty-vacant/
The post, by Wayne Creed, began thusly:
With the Democratic Party taking the historic step of nominating the first woman candidate for president (to a major party), we at the Cape Charles Mirror were hoping to hear from Northampton County DEMs on Hillary Clinton’s achievement, or to at least make a case against Trump (although at times he appears to be doing a fine job of that himself).
As has been the case, we have gotten many comments and submissions from the right, but as for the left, we have gotten nothing.
In a county that is 2/3 democrat, one has wonder about the silence.
Given the email scandal involving the DNC, Democrat’s silence may be justified, as it appears that the entire primary election was rigged in favor of candidate Clinton, leaving an army of Bernie or Bust supporters writhing and gnashing their teeth.
Oddly, there is a freakish media frenzy surrounding the notion that the Russians (a foreign government) may be trying to influence a U.S. election.
Dudes, the DNC (mainly Clinton’s crew) have already influenced the election, and yet, nobody’s in jail?
end quote
Re-reading that all these months later, one cannot say that the Democrats were in any way treated unfairly in here, nor were they denied a voice, so why the silence?
As to what the Democrats really did stand for, in the first post in response in that thread made a bit over a year ago on August 8, 2016 at 10:40 am, the following statement was made, to wit:
My specific concerns as a loyal American citizen not affiliated with any political faction arise out of language found at page 14 of the 2016 Democrat Manifesto, or Party Platform, under the heading “Ending Systemic Racism,” where we can clearly see that the statement Hillary Rodham Clinton made earlier this year at a closed political gathering that “If someone has white skin, they are a racist because of Implicit Bias, and we need community programs here in America to cure them” forms the basis for that part of the platform, despite that earlier statement by Hillary Clinton itself being based on what can only be called crack-pot science or lunatic science in the form of some voodoo called “implicit bias” which then forms the basis for the claims in the 2016 Democrat Party Platform that:
* Democrats will fight to end institutional and systemic racism in our society.
* We will challenge and dismantle the structures that define lasting racial, economic, political, and social inequity.
* We will push for a societal transformation to make it clear that black lives matter and that there is no place for racism in our country.

The 2016 DEMOCRAT MANIFESTO, people, which was available on-line, and was fifty-one (51) tedious pages long, was the official Democrat statement of values that Charley “Chuck” Schumer is now pretending we knew nothing about, despite the fact that over a year ago, the Cape Charles Mirror, on July 28, 2016 at 10:44 am printed this following concerning that same document:
No analysis, devoid of details, no data, no substantiation, no facts, no solutions, but very long on emotional and accusatory rhetoric.
That is the only way to describe what failed Democrat presidential contender, political sell-out and Vermont senator Bernie Sanders, when he endorsed Hillary Clinton on July 12th, said as follows:
“I am happy to tell you that at the Democratic Platform Committee … there was a significant coming together between the two campaigns and we produced, by far, the most progressive platform in the history of the Democratic Party.”
Referring to that same document, the 2016 Democrat Party Manifesto, in an article in the Washington Post entitled “Bernie Sanders is right: It’s time to support Hillary Clinton now – Democrats need to unite against Donald Trump this week” by Sally Kohn, an essayist, community organizer by training and temperament, and CNN political commentator, we were informed:
The Democratic Party platform – the most progressive platform in American political history – actively reflects Sanders’s campaign and vision.
end quote
Now, if they were talking about the 2016 Democrat Party Manifesto in the Washington Post last year, long before the November 2016 presidential election, whose leg is Charley “Chuck” Schumer trying to pull when he tries to tell us that “Too many Americans don’t know what we stand for?”
The post to the CCM concluded as follows:
Perhaps these Democrats could come forward in the Cape Charles Mirror and give us American citizens concerned about the direction the Democrats are planning to take this country what their views are on the subject, starting with whether they themselves adhere to these statements, given that they are from the Party Platform these Democrats are now supposed to have loyalty and fealty to.
end quotes
That, of course, was met with the thundering sounds of silence from the Democrats.
In that same thread, in a post in response to the East Shore’s esteemed tkenny on August 9, 2016 at 10:39 am, this was said about what the Democrats stood for, again, long before the November 2016 presidential election, to wit:
As to what the Democrats are planning, all one need do to know that is follow the news, where the whole nation, lobotomized as it is, has been told as follows:
When Sanders endorsed Clinton on July 12th he said “I am happy to tell you that at the Democratic Platform Committee … there was a significant coming together between the two campaigns and we produced, by far, the most progressive platform in the history of the Democratic Party.”
“Our job now is to see that platform implemented by a Democratic Senate, a Democratic House and a Hillary Clinton presidency – and I am going to do everything I can to make that happen.”
A Democratic Senate, a Democratic House and a Hillary Clinton presidency, of course, equals one party government.
One-party government equals absolute power, and absolute power, to some, equals tyranny, while to others, it equates with the dictatorship of the proletariat in Marxist sociopolitical thought, which refers to a state in which the proletariat, or the working class, has control of political power.
That is what the 51-page 2016 Democrat Manifesto or Party Platform is the recipe for.
According to Marxist theory, the existence of any government implies the dictatorship of one social class over another.
In this case, according to the 2016 Democrat Manifesto, that social class with the dictatorship presently is the “white” people who are racist because of Implicit Bias, so that we need community programs here in America to cure them.
Said more properly, we need to overthrow the dictatorship of the white people, and instead have a dictatorship of all the people the “white” people have been exploiting over the years.
We need a “societal transformation to make it clear that black lives matter and that there is no place for racism in our country.”
We need to dismantle the structures that define lasting racial, economic, political, and social inequity.
In other words, we need a cultural revolution in this country, and that is what we are going to get, if the 2016 Democrat Party Platform is implemented by a Democratic Senate, a Democratic House and a Hillary Clinton presidency, which Bernie Sanders, a socialist, is going to do everything he can to make that happen, as it would be a fulfillment of his political dream of seeking to establish a vanguard party, to lead proletarian uprising, assume state power on behalf of the proletariat, and create a single party socialist state.
Really, how hard is that to understand, especially when the Democrats have made it incandescently clear in their public statements and published Manifesto that that is exactly what they intend to do, which is take complete control of all political power in this country for themselves and for their purposes – the dictatorship of the Democrats.
If people in this nation were not so lobotomized, perhaps they could hear what the Democrats are telling them.
But they are, so they don’t.
And how dangerous that is to our Republic that is cannot be understated.
end quotes
None of that was ever refuted by the Democrats, and as one can clearly see, long before the 2016 presidential election, the Cape Charles Mirror had some quite robust discussion going on concerning what the Democrats stood for back then, so again, who is Democrat powerhouse of bigwig Charley “Chuck” Schumer trying to kid here with his blather that “Too many Americans don’t know what we stand for?”
As to a recent SLATE article entitled “Schumer Takes Aim at Clinton: Don’t Blame Russia or Comey, ‘Blame Yourself’‘by Daniel Politi on July 23, 2017, where Charley “Chuck” Schumer was quoted as saying “People didn’t know what we stood for, just that we were against Trump,” how could they think otherwise?
Just look at what was said, for example in the 2016 Democrat Manifesto under the heading “Principled Leadership,” to wit:
From defeating terrorism and combating climate change to managing China’s rise and strengthening our nation’s cybersecurity, the next Democratic administration will confront the complex challenges that lie ahead by staying true to our principles and core values.
Donald Trump has a different approach.
There has never been a major party candidate less qualified or less fit for the office of President of the United States or to be Commander-in-Chief than Donald Trump.
He wants more countries to have nuclear weapons.
He thinks our military should engage in war crimes.
He wants to build walls and keep people—including Americans—from entering the country based on their race, religion, ethnicity, and national origin.
He has no strategy for dealing with key threats facing our country, including climate change and ISIS.
He wants to abandon our allies and empower our adversaries.
His dangerous, incoherent policies would undo the progress we have made.
Donald Trump believes America is weak and an embarrassment.
We believe America is unlike any other nation on earth.
Our ingenuity is unparalleled, our military unrivaled, our economy the largest, most dynamic, and innovative, and our values an enduring source of strength and inspiration the world over.
We are not a country that cowers behind walls.
We lead with purpose.
With American leadership, guided by our principles and in concert with our allies and partners, the coming years can be the most stable, secure, and prosperous time we and the world have ever known.
end quote
With respect to that spew of hobble-gobble, just the other day NEWSWEEK had an article entitled “U.S. Power Scares 7 Countries, Including Allies” by Greg Price on 2 August 2017 wherein was stated:
The United States is viewed as a major national threat—taking a place alongside the Islamic State militant group (ISIS), global climate change and cyber attacks—by majority of citizens from seven countries, including some longstanding American military allies, according to a 38-country Pew Research Center survey released Tuesday.
Though 18 of the countries pegged ISIS as the biggest threat, strong majorities in countries including South Korea (70 percent), Japan (62 percent) and Turkey (72 percent) see U.S. power and influence as significant threats to their respective nations.
Sixty-two percent of people in Mexico, the U.S.’s immediate neighbor to the south and often a punching bag for President Donald Trump’s immigration policies, register the U.S. as a threat, and it is seen that way by percent in Spain, 55 percent in Indonesia and 57 percent in Chile.
end quotes
As Trump hasn’t been in office long enough for that to be attributable to him, that must be looked at as an accomplishment of Barack Hussein Obama, Hillary Rodham Clinton and the Democrat party, notwithstanding the HOO-HAH in their 2016 Democrat Manifesto to the contrary.
But what about the common people?
Referring to the 2016 Democratic Party Platform – July 21 2016 As Approved by the Democratic Platform Committee July 8-9 2016 – Orlando FL, we have this:
As working people struggle, the top one percent accrues more wealth and more power.
We firmly believe that the greed, recklessness, and illegal behavior on Wall Street must be brought to an end.
Wall Street must never again be allowed to threaten families and businesses on Main Street.
end quote
Ah, what high sounding words those are, people, aren’t they, but are they in any way true, or is that all just hype?
Here is what The Wall Street Journal By Donna Borak on July 28, 2016 had to say about that:
Hillary Clinton, the Democratic Party’s presidential nominee, has garnered more than $6 million from Wall Street supporters who are bundling campaign contributions.
Overall, more than 600 backers known as bundlers have, across various industries, contributed $62 million to Clinton’s election efforts, according to data compiled by the nonpartisan Center for Responsible Politics released on Thursday.
Of the $62 million in bundled contributions, $6.4 million came from 64 donors in the securities and investment industry.
It represents the second-largest industry group of donors behind law firms, where bundlers collected $10.8 million.
end quotes
And then there was The Wall Street Journal article by John Carney and Anupreeta Das on July 29, 2016:
Hedge funds are playing a far bigger role in 2016 than in past elections—and Hillary Clinton has been the single biggest beneficiary.
The top five contributors to pro-Clinton groups are employees or owners of private investment funds, according to federal data released last week and compiled by OpenSecrets.org, the center’s website.
The data show seven financial firms alone have generated nearly $48.5 million for groups working on Clinton’s behalf.
end quotes
And then there is the POLITICO article by Ben White on 06/20/16 where we were informed as follows:
Big Wall Street donors have a message for Hillary Clinton: Keep Elizabeth Warren off the ticket or risk losing millions of dollars in contributions.
And they warned that if Clinton surprises them and taps Warren, big donations from the industry could vanish.
“If Clinton picked Warren, her whole base on Wall Street would leave her,” said one top Democratic donor who has helped raise millions for Clinton.
“They would literally just say, ‘We have no qualms with you moving left, we understand all the things you’ve had to do because of Bernie Sanders, but if you are going there with Warren, we just can’t trust you, you’ve killed it.’”
end quote
Yes, people, (nudge, nudge, wink, wink), the Democrats are really in it for the working class people in America, not Wall $treet, and if you believe that, why, you will really believe the Democrats have a “BETTER DEAL” for you than the raw deal they were offering just eight months ago when they were running Hillary Clinton as their presidential candidate, which is precisely what Charley “Chuck” Schumer, known as “Wall $treet Cholly,” and Nancy Pelosi need you to believe.
And you also will believe me when I tell you that for no money down and just five easy payments, you can be the owner of a real handsome bridge between Cape Charles and Norfolk that will pay back your minimal investment ten thousand fold, and with that money, you will be rolling in cash and you will never have to work a day in your life again!
Now, how about that for a “BETTER DEAL?”
Beats the cheeseburger for the price of a hamburger with the biggy fries and thick shake thrown in for free by a mile, doesn’t it?
Paul Plante says
So, people, Democrat values.
When United States senator from New York and Democrat bigwig Charley “Chuck” Schumer, who is a prodigious fundraiser for the Democrats, marketing access to what is supposed to be our government, but clearly is not, if we do not have the money to buy our way in, is quoted in the Albany Times Union article “Schumer’s ‘Better Deal’ aims to recreate Dems’ ‘New Deal’ magic – Schumer touts middle class economic plan to woo back Trump voters” by Dan Freedman on Sunday, July 30, 2017 as saying, “We also failed to communicate our values to show that we were on the side of working people, not the special interests,” what values is he really talking about there, this as we read in a Tribune Washington Bureau article entitled “Pelosi raises more than $25 million for Democratic efforts to retake the House” by Sarah D. Wire on 31 July 2017 as follows:
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi’s re-election campaign said she has raised $25.9 million for House Democrats’ bid to retake the chamber in 2018, with the majority of the money going to the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.
Long known as a fundraising powerhouse, San Francisco’s Pelosi has seemed invigorated with her new role of opposing President Donald Trump.
end quote
Her new role of opposing President Trump?
What a curious choice of words they use there, given that Nancy Pelosi happens to be a congressperson in the United States House of Representatives, which is the legislative, or law-making branch of our government, not the branch of our government, as it is written in the Constitution, anyway, which I doubt Nancy Pelosi is even aware of, so busy fundraising for the Democrats is she, that is supposed to stand in opposition to a sitting president, because we have no such branch of our government vested in the House of Representatives.
Their job is to make the laws the president enforces, not to play silly and malicious partisan games with our federal government.
Getting back to Nancy Pelosi’s Democrat values as they are revealed in that Tribune Washington Bureau article, we have as follows:
Since joining House leadership in 2002, Pelosi has raised $593.8 million for Democrats, according to her campaign spokesman Jorge Aguilar.
The 124 fundraising events she’s held in 22 cities this year garnered $1.2 million from a New York City fundraiser in March, nearly $2 million from a fundraiser in San Francisco and nearly $1.5 million from a Los Angeles fundraiser, both in April.
Aguilar said the haul “demonstrates the growing enthusiasm for House Democrats to retake the House.”
end quotes
The “haul?”
Isn’t that how bank robbers and other thieves, including pirates, characterize the proceeds of their crimes – as a “haul,” as in “a lot of loot?”
And did Nancy collect all that boodle from working class people?
Somehow, I doubt it.
So, the Democrat values expressed by Nancy Pelosi are that our House of Representatives is a money-making machine for the Democrat party, plain and simple, not a true governing body, since it is for sale to the highest bidders, and who in the land did not know that?
And how could they not know it?
So when Democrat Charley “Chuck” Schumer is quoted in the Albany Times Union article “Schumer’s ‘Better Deal’ aims to recreate Dems’ ‘New Deal’ magic – Schumer touts middle class economic plan to woo back Trump voters” by Dan Freedman on Sunday, July 30, 2017 as saying, “We also failed to communicate our values to show that we were on the side of working people, not the special interests,” where was the failure to communicate?
Does Charley “Chuck” Schumer think we are ignorant of the fact that the Democrats are using our government as a cash cow?
Silly Charley “Chuck” if that is the case.
But enough about him.
Getting back to Democrat values and Nancy Pelosi and the “BETTER DEAL,” we turn to an article in THE HILL entitled “Pelosi: ‘Unimportant’ to win midterm elections” by Mallory Shelbourne on 30 July 2017, this after being informed in the Tribune Washington Bureau article entitled “Pelosi raises more than $25 million for Democratic efforts to retake the House” by Sarah D. Wire on 31 July 2017 that House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi’s re-election campaign said she has raised $25.9 million for House Democrats’ bid to retake the chamber in 2018, with the majority of the money going to the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, where we have as follows:.
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) on Sunday said it is “unimportant” for Democrats to win the midterm elections in 2018.
During an appearance on “Fox News Sunday,” host Chris Wallace asked Pelosi to estimate the chances that Democrats win back the lower chamber back in 2018 and whether she would run again for speaker if they did.
“That’s so unimportant.”
end quotes
HUH?
That’s so unimportant, Nancy?
Then what was with all the fundraising?
Oh, but I forget, that is why you are in the congress in the first place, not to govern wisely, but so that you will have a product to sell, which is special access to what is supposed to be our federal government, but clearly isn’t.
So if winning the mid-terms is so unimportant, then what is?
For that answer, let us return to THE HILL, where we have this:
“What is important is that we have the lively debate on a better deal,” Pelosi said.
end quote
Ah, yes, people, the “BETTER DEAL.”
Nancy Pelosi says what is important is that we have some lively debate on the “BETTER DEAL,” and people, here we are to take her at her word, which takes us back to the Albany Times Union article “Schumer’s ‘Better Deal’ aims to recreate Dems’ ‘New Deal’ magic – Schumer touts middle class economic plan to woo back Trump voters” by Dan Freedman on Sunday, July 30, 2017, where we have this about the substance or lack thereof of the so-called “BETTER DEAL,” as follows:
It is also a marketing device to get blue-collar people who voted for Trump to think about which party has been their true champion.
end quotes
A marketing device, people, that is what this so-called Democrat “BETTER DEAL” really is – just an0ther way for the Democrats to play yet another con on us, after all the other cons they have been playing.
It is just as Nancy Pelosi said about the “BETTER DEAL” in the SLATE article “Schumer Takes Aim at Clinton: Don’t Blame Russia or Comey, ‘Blame Yourself’‘by Daniel Politi on July 23, 2017, to wit:
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi said the new plan “is not a course correction, but it’s a presentation correction.”
end quotes
The Democrats are not going to change one whit, they are just going to have us believe they changed through the “marketing device” of the Democrat “BETTER DEAL!”
Which means the so-called “BETTER DEAL” is just more Democrat bull**** on top of all the other bull**** we have been getting from them for at least these last eight years, and I frankly am surprised that Charley “Chuck” Schumer thinks we are too stupid to grasp that fact.
As I said, silly Charley.
Or will it end up being silly us as we buy into this bull**** one more time all over again?
