Pet of the Week: Meet Choco

May 29, 2022 by Leave a Comment

Hi, I’m Choco. A very handsome Chocolate lab mix male. When I came to the SPCA a few months back I was heartworm positive, but have now been treated and am vaccinated and neutered. I am around 2 years old.

I seem to want to get along with some of the other dogs here, at the shelter but it is uncertain how I may do in a home with other dogs. However because I am somewhat nervous, the right dog companion may be just what I need to help bring me out of my shell.

I am shy upon first meeting people, but once I get to know you, I warm right up. It is not known if I was ever in a home with cats, or children though I am gentle when it comes to people.

I will require a little patience in the beginning as I learn your schedule for house training. Though I am clean in my kennel, I have been in a kennel situation for a few months undergoing treatment and need that extra reassurance and guidance as I am sometimes fearful of the outside world around me.

If you think that you may be interested in adopting Choco you can obtain an application a few different ways. You can print one out at our website: www.shorespca.com You can email us and have one sent to you via our email at shorespca@gmail.com and you can call or visit the shelter Tuesday through Saturday 10am-3pm.

You do not need an appointment to walk through the kennel to view our residents! Tues-Sat 10am-2:30pm.
