About Chubby
Hi, I’m Chubby and I’m a 4 year old male St. Bernard mix, maybe? Could be Spaniel, Aussie, or other breeds. What is for sure is that I am a real sweetheart, whatever breeds go into making me! I love meeting people and go out with a female dog who’s very low key. I haven’t met any high energy dogs yet, or been introduced to children. I am a nice medium size, weighing 50 lbs., and have only a nub tail that is constantly wagging.
I’ve had a hard life up to this point, living outside the whole time. My coat is still in very poor condition even though I’m on a much better food now. One of my ears has no hair from being eaten by flies, and may never have hair there again. I do, of course, have heartworms, since I’ve never been to a vet in my life. I’ve started anitbiotics, which I’ll take until Halloween. Then, I’ll get the shots to get rid of the heartworms.
I’ll stay here for at least 2 weeks after those shots, so I’ll probably be able to go home a couple of weeks before Thanksgiving, if a family decides I’m the guy for them. I have been neutered and am up to date on vaccines

I am interested in adopting “Chubby”–need an older companion for a senior dog. Have fenced in yard and doggy door so would be an inside-outside dog as weather allows. Will provide heartgard for his heartworm treatment. My vets are Dr. Noble, Reed, and Hopkins at Somerset animal clinic in Princess Anne. I live in Mt. Vernon outside of princess Anne on 1 & 1/2 acres. My property is fenced in.

Many thanks to Cape Charles Mirror for featuring this beautiful, neglected dog. I have my quota of animals, who keep me busy; otherwise, I would leap at filing an adoption request for this dog. He deserves another 12+ years of good care. I hope he finds the best of homes. Again, The Mirror is performing the most valuable of public services.
