While Cape Charles has reported several recent vehicle break-ins, over the past two weeks Northampton County Sheriffs have received reports and are investigating 6 residential breaking and entering cases. The thefts are occurring while the homeowners are away or at work. Items such as jewelry, silver, and flatware have been reported missing. We would like to encourage residents to report any suspicious activity or persons to the Sheriff’s Office. We would also remind everyone to properly secure all outbuildings and vehicles and to utilize their home security systems. We would ask that anyone with information regarding any of the cases to contact the Northampton County Sheriff’s Office at 678-0458.

Maybe some of the deputies making money on route 13 with radar traps should be on patrol in the county and towns.

Even their combined task force comes up all but empty handed, each year. When you read the amounts recovered…they are but a tiny drop in a very large barrel. They have been told that if they stop enough cars, one will be dirty. All the while, the real crime goes on all around them as they sit on the major highways. They can not even put a hat on when in uniform, as it would disturb the gel in their hair.
