Onancock, VA – Mental health issues are common but often undiagnosed. Depression is one such illness that affects your body, your mind, how you feel about yourself, and even how well you sleep. It is not a temporary blue mood; it is not a sign of personal weakness that can be willed away. Without treatment, depression can last for months or even years, but once diagnosed, it can be readily treated in most people.
October is National Depression and Mental Health Screening Month, and on October 18th, from 10am – 1pm Riverside is offering a free and confidential depression screening to anyone who thinks they or a loved one might be depressed. The screening will take place in a private setting at Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital. Appointments are required and can be made by calling 302-2128.
