Science and Philosophy Seminar of the Eastern Shore of Virginia has scheduled a seminar, “Advanced 3D Geospatial Robotic Survey at the Dulles Metrorail Extension.” The free 90-minute seminar will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, March 11 in the Lecture Hall of the Eastern Shore Community College, 29300 Lankford Hwy, Melfa, VA 23410.
Joe Betit will lead the Seminar and will discuss how advanced surveying technology enabled the Dulles Metrorail Extension project, which included 20 miles of concrete ballast walls, 3 miles of elevated structure, 2 tunnels, and 5 stations.
Betit is a Professional Land Surveyor with over 40 years’ experience in surveying and engineering.

Science and Philosophy Seminar is an informally organized group that meets more or less regularly to explore and discuss a wide array of topics, ranging from philosophical speculation to scientific research. All Seminars are open to the public. Admission is free.
