Nature’s Role in Coastal Resilience:  Global Lessons from Virginia’s Eastern Shore

Science and Philosophy Seminar of the Eastern Shore of Virginia has scheduled its next seminar, “Nature’s Role in Coastal Resilience:  Global Lessons from Virginia’s Eastern Shore.”  The free 90-minute seminar will be at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, November 2 in the Lecture Hall of the Eastern Shore Community College, 29300 Lankford Hwy, Melfa, VA 23410.

Jill Bieri will talk about how The Nature Conservancy’s Virginia Coast Reserve is one of the most conserved and studied coastal regions in the world, and how it provides us with nature-based solutions we can adopt to reduce risk, capture benefits, and increase overall ecosystem health.

Bieri is Director of the Virginia Coast Reserve and leads a staff of 11 working to protect, restore, and sustain our barrier islands, coastal lagoons, and bayside.

These seminars are occasionally rescheduled or postponed on short notice. Prospective attendees are urged to check the Seminar’s website (www.SciPhi.org) shortly before a scheduled date.
