Gain hands-on experience trimming sheep hooves and caring for small ruminants during this intro to farm-based veterinary medicine with experienced livestock farmers at Crooked Fence Farm.

Join Crooked Fence Farm for an intensive introduction to small ruminant biology and healthcare. Learn about basic ruminant biology, general flock upkeep, veterinary options, and get hands-on experience trimming the sheep flock’s hooves. Located in Reisterstown, MD, Crooked Fence Farm is a diversified farm operation growing “field-to-belly” food. Farmers Sarah and Billy McCarthy raise vegetables, flowers, pork, and sheep, and sell their products through a CSA and at farmers markets in the region. The field day will conclude with a potluck!
