Subaru and The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Donate to Cancer Patients

July 28, 2019 by Wayne Creed Leave a Comment

Onancock, Va –For the fourth consecutive year, 80 cozy blankets were delivered to the Riverside Shore Cancer Center in Onancock to be given out to patients.  The blankets help keep patients – who are often chilly due to their treatment – warm as they continue their fight against cancer.

It’s a partnership between Subaru and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.  In addition to the blankets, messages of support and hope were delivered to patients.  The messages were written by visitors to Subaru retailers including Buchanan Subaru in Pocomoke, Maryland as part of the Subaru Loves to Care program.

“The patients we care for appreciate the blankets and the messages,” said Bev Bowden, Director of the Riverside Shore Cancer Center.  “Our patients are going through a difficult time, and they tell us that these thoughtful gifts bring warmth and comfort and the knowledge that their community is rooting for them.”
