Town Agrees to Move WWI Memorial to Back of Library

October 24, 2021 by 3 Comments

The Cape Charles Town Council has voted to remove the WWI plaque from the front of the Cape Charles Memorial Library, and place it in the ‘history’ room.

In 2019, the town Library Board requested to have the plaque removed, shrouded, and placed in storage so that anyone that was unaware that it even existed could request to see it. That idea was rejected by the town council.

At issue is that the memorial lists all the war dead, but has them separated by race. There are vague proposals being bandied around, including creating a new WWI plaque the will list all those that died in the Great War listed alphabetically, and not broken out by race.

Why not simply remove the word Colored from the plaque? Too much Wokeness for such a small minded town.

Taking that plaque down will not change the fact that their skin was ‘colored’.

White Guilt is more disgusting than the Political Correctness that created it.
