With the adoption of the new Strategic Plan, the Town of Cape Charles is looking for ways to deter any undesired behavior, such as reckless golf-carting, speeding, parking violations, and unauthorized pets (dogs) on the beach. Chief Pruitt has been asking the town to revise the code to help the CCPD foster a safer vehicle (golf cart) culture for the town.
Essentially, there has to be a better way to enforce the code.
It was determined by the staff that the current violation book was out of date and needed revision, and not just for golf carts.
In response, a revised notice was created that increased the fines for parking violations, as well as adding new violations and fines.
