CAPE CHARLES, Va. — A two-vehicle crash on the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel killed one driver and sent the other to the hospital on Saturday.
The crash took place on Fisherman Island of the CBBT after 4:30 p.m. Saturday.
Due to bridge road work, the northbound lanes are closed after the second tunnel, funneling traffic into a two-lane, no passing scenario.
Authorities say a sedan was traveling north on Fisherman Island and ran off the road. Witnesses say the driver tried to regain control of the car, but over-corrected, crossed the southbound lane, and struck a pickup truck traveling south on Fisherman Island.
The driver of the car died at the scene. The truck driver was rushed to a hospital on the southside.
Fisherman Island was closed for more than an hour as authorities investigated the scene.

Wasn’t this the accident from last week????
Note: Last Sunday, but still thought it was newsworthy.
