New York will offer payments of up to $15,600 to undocumented immigrants affected by the pandemic.
The state dedicated a total of $2.1bn to an Excluded Worker Fund, which will make one-time payments to undocumented people who lost work during the coronavirus outbreak, which shut down New York City last spring.
The question is whether NY is using their “COVID Stimulus” money to fund this program? If so, then did American Citizens – who only got $2,000 from their own government, fund payments of “up to $15,600” for non-citizens? Under the latest $1.9 trillion “Covid” spending bill passed by Congressional Democrats, NY received $100 billion of federal funds, nearly a third of all funding for state/local governments.
Taxpayers across the country funded NY’s $15,600 checks for illegal immigrants.
Why enter the country legally at this point?
Democrats in swing districts in upstate New York and Long Island also fear that it could be used against them in future elections, the New York Times reports. Ya’ think??
“The question is not, do you help these workers, it is how do you do it and how do you structure it in a way where it is defensible in these districts,” said Bruce Gyory, a Democratic political consultant.
Omapatie says
I am not working over one n half year and cannot get any financial help for me n my son n I am a legally resident of ny ,how come these people have first priority .I need help too.what can I do to have financial help .
Paul Plante says
First of all, are you a card-carrying Democrat who makes sure to pay your yearly tithe to the “party” in exchange for the “privileges” that accrue to party members?
If no, forget any special financial help coming your way.
And if you are a legal resident, then you are clearly not qualified for the benefits reserved for undocumented aliens, since nobody needs to have any compassion for you, with all of the compassion in the state going to the undocumented aliens, because, er, well, okay, you know how it is, so I don’t need to tell you, they’re special and you’re not.
According to the Albany, New York Times Union article “How $2.1 billion for undocumented immigrants landed in the state budget” by Edward McKinley on April 8, 2021, the policy — the first of its kind and scope in the nation — was sponsored in the Senate by Sen. Jessica Ramos, a Queens Democrat, and she was quoted in the article as saying “(T)he reality is we can show the fund for excluded workers is going to bring millions of dollars for key communities,” so we can clearly see this is yet another Democrat “graft grab.”
The article then continued as follows as to the genesis of this Democrat “graft grab,” to wit:
According to two sources from the Assembly who spoke on the condition of anonymity, the impetus for the policy landing in the final budget deal was because of the Senate.
They said the issue was only discussed in closed-door meetings of Assembly Democrats within the last two weeks, and it took many by surprise.
The two sources were critical of the process by which the policy was made, although they both said the policy was improved through a question-and-answer process that fleshed out certain details.
Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins told Assembly Speaker Carl E. Heastie that she had the votes for the policy and was insistent on it being in the budget, one of the sources said.
That put the Democratic-controlled Assembly in the politically unthinkable position of needing to publicly deny help to immigrants.

And here it needs to be said that New York City politics control what the politics of the state are going to be, because the population of New York City, which includes Queens is so much greater than the population of the state, and the immigrants in question, good Democrats all, are largely in New York City.
As to where the money to pay the bill is coming from that article continues thusly:
Republicans have uniformly opposed the idea in both chambers, saying it unduly prioritizes undocumented noncitizens ahead of New Yorkers.
“I do think this is a well-intentioned idea.”
“I think that everyone has compassion for people and would love to help folks out, but you’re talking about a budget here where we’re already spending 20 percent more than last year, $18 billion to be exact,” said Assemblyman Chris Tague, whose district includes Greene, Columbia and Albany counties.
He said he feels it’s nonsensical the state is not putting away a portion of the billions it has received from the federal government for a rainy day fund.
“We’re (spending) $2.1 billion and we don’t know who this person is or why they’re here or what they’ve been doing?”
“I mean everybody’s been hit hard by this COVID crisis and we want to help everybody, but it also gets to the point where we have to protect the state of New York, we have to protect the people of the state, we have to take care of them first,” Tague said.

So, yes, it would appear that the state is going to muse federal tax dollars to reward these undocumented aliens who are good a Democrat as any other Democrat:
“Just because you’re undocumented doesn’t mean we don’t care and we don’t have compassion and we don’t want to help,” Cuomo said.

The difference from and ilegal and legal immigrant is that the legal is getting unemployment benefits, the ilegal isn’t, this is like a humanitarian action ,we need to look at the hole picture and not take things out of content,Thanks

1) A Leftist says, “If it saves just one innocent life we should repeal the 2nd amendment and ban guns.”
2) I say, “If it stops just one murder, robbery, rape, etc., we should repeal immigration and ban all illegal aliens.”
Paul Plante says
Except, Carmen, and this is a fine point you seem to be overlooking, New York state is a state with a CONSTITUTION to PROTECT the ACTUAL CITIZENS of the state from those who govern in the name of the people.
People who are not citizens of the United States ARE NOT citizens of the state of New York with a right to access the public treasury, PERIOD!
People who are not citizens of the United States have absolutely no entitlement to $2.1 BILLION in American taxpayer dollars.
It is patently ridiculous and absurd to think they do.
And yet, all of that notwithstanding, the DEMOCRATS are going to TAKE, i.e. GRAB that money, and it is going to disappear down a ****hole, and in the end, $2.1 BILLION of taxpayer dollars is going to be RAKED OFF and NOBODY is going to know where it went, or why, or who got it.
And that is SOCIALIST BULL**** that these people have an entitlement to have the government of the state of New York take care of them when they aren’t even citizens!
These people come here from failed SOCIALIST systems in ****HOLE nations steeped from the cradle in the belief that governments exist for the sole purpose of taking care of each citizen from cradle to grave, supplying them with all their needs and even giving them a kick in the chest to help them breathe, and since the ****hole governments can’t do that, they come here begging for a free ride, which that Democrats are glad to give them, in exchange for them being GOOD DEMOCRATS who won’t question anything, which is another trait there people bring here with them from the failed SOCIALIST ***HOLES – subservience.
As to pulling a finagle with the immigrants as pawns in their political game, which is about POWER, PATRONAGE and most importantly, GRAFT, surely, Carmen, someone so intelligent and with it as you must remember TAMMANY HALL, which served as a social integrator for immigrants by familiarizing them with American society and its political institutions and by helping them become naturalized citizens.
And that is back in the 1800’s, Carmen, before the 1850’s and the Civil War the Democrats were soon to foment with their insurrection against the United States of America.
Getting back to Tammany Hall, Carmen, and you can certainly appreciate this, one example of the service Tammany Hall was providing to immigrants, just as they are still doing to this day, following the same model Boss Treed invented, was the naturalization process organized by William M. “BOSS” Tweed.
Do you remember him from high school, Carmen?
Dude was as crooked a Democrat as they come, and then it comes to crooked Democrats, that is saying a lot.
Under Tweed’s regime, Carmen, as you must recall, since you seem to be advocating for it in here, “naturalization committees” were established.
These committees were made up primarily of Tammany politicians and employees, and their duties consisted of filling out paperwork, providing witnesses, and lending immigrants money for the fees required to become citizens.
Judges and other city officials were bribed and otherwise compelled to go along with the workings of these committees.
In exchange for all these benefits, immigrants assured Tammany Hall they would vote for their candidates.
By 1854, the support which Tammany Hall received from immigrants would firmly establish the organization as the leader of New York City’s political scene, which in turn gave them control of the state, and great influence in Washington. D.C., itself.
So today, they have a chance to RAKE OFF $2.1 BILLION of taxpayer money to create a whole new crop of LOYAL DEMOCRATS who will do as they are told, keep their ******* mouths closed about kickbacks and corruption, and vote the Democrat line when told to, as often as possible.
See, Carmen, I really do see the BIGGER PICTURE here.
And thank you from a grateful nation for taking of your valuable time to point that out to everybody in here.
You are a welcome addition to the MARKETPLACE OF IDEAS that is the Cape Charles Mirror, along with its being a BASTION OF FREEDOM and a GRAND PALLADIUM OF LIBERTY.
Publius Americanus says
Ok, Carmen….can I reach into your pocket for the cash?
No? Then what gives you the right to reach into mine?
Ray Otton says
FWIW, she doesn’t have the cash right now, she’s saving for a spell check app.
Paul Plante says
The biggest difference I can see between the legal and the illegal is that one is legal, and hence entitled to something that comes along with being legal, a benefit, if you will, that comes from doing things the right way, and the other is not legal, and hence has no entitlement to anything in this country, which takes us back to that Albany, New York Times Union article entitled “How $2.1 billion for undocumented immigrants landed in the state budget” by Edward McKinley on April 8, 2021, as follows:
ALBANY — The most contentious and late-breaking policy debate within this week’s $217 billion state budget deal is a $2.1 billion “excluded workers” fund designed to provide cash payments to undocumented immigrants who were ineligible for other federal and state benefits such as unemployment insurance or stimulus checks.
The policy — the first of its kind and scope in the nation — was sponsored in the Senate by Sen. Jessica Ramos, a Queens Democrat.
end quotes
And right there, we have the Constitution of the state of New York implicated because a senator in the state of New York is created by the state Constitution, not the Democrat party, and pursuant to Section 1, entitled “Oath of office,” of ARTICLE XIII of the New York state Constitution, titled “Public Officers,” as a state officer, Sen. Jessica Ramos, a Queens Democrat, took this oath, to wit:
“I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support the constitution of the United States, and the constitution of the State of New York, and that I will faithfully discharge the duties of the office of Senator, according to the best of my ability.”
end quotes
Neither the United States Constitution nor the New York State Constitution provide that people here illegally or unlawfully are in any way “citizens” entitled to any benefits, so why then is a New York state senator advocating for people who have no rights according to the Constitution she swore an oath to uphold?
And the simple answer is that she is a Democrat, and to a Democrat, our laws and our Constitution mean nothing at all, and so her oath to support same was an empty oath.
Going back to that article, here we see the Democrats playing their favorite card, which is the RACE CARD, to wit:
Although the policy was included in the budgets proposed in the Assembly and Senate last month, it seemed to take political observers and even some lawmakers by surprise when it became clear that there was serious momentum to include the measure in the budget.
The surprise led to a split in the Democratic Party, with state Sen. Gustavo Rivera, chair of the Health Committee, threatening to impede bills from members of the Assembly who did not support the excluded workers fund while state party Chair Jay Jacobs issued a statement decrying supporters of the bill who labeled critics as racist.
end quotes
And there we have it, people, if you do not support giving federal or state tax dollars to people who are not United States citizens and who are here illegally, then by God, you are a RACIST and that is all there is about it, and the only way you can not be a RACIST is to be for giving United States tax dollars to illegal immigrants!
Seems the illegals are getting the better part of that deal to me, anyway, which takes us back to the Times Union, as follows:
Rivera said he felt some of his fellow Democrats were buying into the Republican messaging on the bill, and that was what spurred him to speak out on Twitter.
“My sense at the time was that there was some organizing going on that was not in good faith.”
” … That was kind of buying into the racist propaganda that this is something that’s going to be harmful to New Yorkers,” Rivera said.
“I wanted to make clear that if you stand with the folks who are against this for illegitimate reasons, then I am not going to stand with you,” he added, explaining his threats on Twitter to block health-related legislation from Assembly members who opposed the bill.
end quotes
So there we have another Democrat who took the same oath of office as did Sen. Jessica Ramos, a Queens Democrat, and there he is threatening to do harm to real New York state citizens by blocking health-related legislation, unless those people cave and sell out their constituents by agreeing to this money grab on behalf of these illegals.
Talk about BULL****, there it is in spades!
Maryann says
This is bullshit for our tax dollars to be spent like this! We now pay double for our home and get nothing back! Can’t afford to live in NY!

A quick history lesson:
North America was settled by Anglo/Celts and has enjoyed prosperity, peace and freedom unparalleled in human history.
Central and South America were settled by Hispanics, and have has revolutions, generalissimos, poverty, disease and strife forever.
Now our betters want to bring that Eden of “diversity” here.
HELL NO.
