The ES SPCA does not have a spay clinic in September, as all available spots have now been filled. An alternative is Eastern Shore Spay Org.
They bring the PETA van in once a month for spay on the lower eastern shore.
Because of the virus it is very limited.

Thank you, Wayne, for mentioning ESSO (Eastern Shore Spay Organization). I do have to say, however, the PETA Mobile Clinic does not necessarily come to the Shore once a month. We no longer have control of their schedule. If anyone would like to take advantage of PETA’s low cost neuter, you must make your appointment directly with them by calling their Mobile Clinic at 757-622-7382, ext. 3.
Also, at this time, we are unable to offer free feral clinics or offer free spay/neuter services to low-income households as our funding sources have dried up. The local Municipalities are unable to fund us this year as COVID-19 related expenses have hit them hard. Without these municipal donations, we no longer qualify for the matching funds grant programs which have helped us in the past.
This lack of funds has also impacted our ability to supplement food sources for the pets of low-income households.
Please understand, any feral colonies we feed are not funded by ESSO, but by our own pockets, and helpful non-profits out of Chesapeake, VA. I cannot thank them enough for all their help in placing cats and kittens from our feral colonies into loving homes. I do not have in front of me the exact number of animals they have placed, but over the past few years it has exceeded 100 cats/kittens. Four of our local cats were accepted by them this past Friday.
ESSO advocates neutering and inoculating animals to keep them healthy and minimize the population of outside animals.
If you are interested in making a monetary donation it can be sent to ESSO, PO box 414, Cape Charles, VA 23310. Donations of food may be left at 218 Tazewell Ave, Cape Charles, VA 23310 or 239 Madison Ave, Cape Charles, VA 23310. Donations may be tax deductible.
Thank you!
