There you have it.
Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, told the news media Friday that the federal government is considering issuing Americans certificates of immunity from the coronavirus.
“You know, that’s possible,” Fauci told CNN’s “New Day,” when asked whether he could imagine a time when people across the country carry this type of ID.
According to Fauci, this could happen with the widespread deployment of antibody tests which the National Institutes of Health and the Food and Drug Administration are in the process of validating in the U.S., “Within a period of a week or so, we’re going to have a rather large number of tests that are available”.
Immunity certificates are already being implemented in Germany and have been considered by the United Kingdom and Italy.
In China, citizens are required to display colored codes on their smartphones indicating their contagion risk.
Dr. Robert Redfield, director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, said “people are looking at all the different modern technology that could be brought to bear to make contact tracing more efficient and effective.”

Yeah, sorry “Show me your papers!!!!!” is NOT the new normal.
We are reading story after story from across the nation of bureaucrats, elected and appointed, who are LOVING this opportunity to boss us around.
They’re way too eager to start issuing orders instead of relying on citizens to behave rationally.
For instance, the mayor of LA is offering rewards to people who report on their neighbors lack of social distancing.
Other government hacks are forcing stores to refuse to sell “non-essential” items. What the hell they are thinking telling us what is and is not “essential” anyway?
We have videos of deputies waiting on an LA beach a surfer to come back to the sand, because being alone in the Pacific is basically condemning millions to infection or something.
A father in CO. was handcuffed and placed in the back of a squad car by three police officers for the egregious act of playing with his two kids in a public park.
Medical experts gleefully demand months of continued imprisonment. They refuse to understand that the medical angle is only one component of this situation.
So is not creating a depression.
In life, adults accept risk when balancing various interests. The idea that “It’s not worth one life” is childish and stupid but that’s what we’re hearing from the nanny staters. ( The same ones who insist abortion is essential, but I digress )
So what’s the proper risk balance for the virus?
Citizens need to figure that out and figuring that out is called politics. That’s why whenever anyone tells you that “This is no time for politics,” they really mean they don’t want YOU to have any input into the decision.
The thing is, without politics, you have a dictatorship, which seems to be the unspoken theme of a growing number of officials.
What they are about to find out is that Americans are not good at being bossed around. When citizens agree that a policy was duly enacted through the proper processes and makes some semblance of sense, we obey voluntarily.
However, if the actions to ameliorate something like this viral infection are seen as illegitimate and oppressive, we stop doing them.
There’s a fuse on America’s patience, especially with the actions of the nanny-staters and when it burns to the end look out. Civil disobedience may be our only option.

In the end, only a few preferred liberty; as for the rest, all they wished for was a kind master.
And the news up this way was that over the weekend, Ralph Northam signed a flurry of bills into law.
Anybody have a clue as to what they might have been?
And why?

No we do not need it.
