If you know about data analyst, the raw statistics tell you what those numbers actually say. One thing the numbers do say is that the cities with the worst record of police violence are run by Democrats. You keep voting for them, and nothing really changes.
If you cannot define a problem clearly, you cannot propose a solution. “Systemic racism” or “institutional racism” or “implicit racism” is a deliberately vague charge. Name the racist policy, name the racist person, so we can all fight the racism together.
A fair number of the victims of police brutality we’re seeing these days are white, including that elderly man being shoved down in Buffalo. Is it just possible that the biggest problem is bad police training and attendant incidents of brutality, not generalized American racism?
Critical theory ate critical thinking.
Reality Check: I’m old enough to remember Barack Obama and Joe Biden throwing weekly elitists parties for only the rich and famous and having monthly $36,000 per plate fundraising Hollywood snob dinners – while completely ignoring the inner cities and black community for 8 straight years.
As crowds of people rally together over the George Floyd murder, it exposes how we’ve all been lied to over the last few months about Covid-19. It isn’t nuanced at all. If you’re protesting for social justice it’s fine. If you’re gathered for any other reason you’re killing Gandma.
People can’t hug their parents, attend funerals, see their friends, or do basic life stuff like go see a movie or get a haircut. We were told to sacrifice and we did. We were lectured about “social distancing”. We were told 500,00 could die. All of a sudden, it’s okay to come out and protest with 10,000 other people, all packed in together like sardines.
1,300 public health experts signed a letter supporting George Floyd protests while simultaneously condemning the anti-lockdown ones, raising questions about the impartiality of the messaging the public is getting from such experts on large gatherings. The people supporting the protests despite the damage the spread of the virus could do are the ones who earlier were lamenting how disproportionately the virus was taking black lives.
It’s over. Places should open up and dare authorities to explain the double standard. I understand the importance of protesting, but viruses don’t infect people differently based on their motivations for being exposed. If it’s safe for massive crowds, small businesses can reopen.
Do you still believe the experts citing science to claim that climate change requires a massive re-organization of society along the lines leftist have long sought? Or are you thinking that maybe, just maybe, they are lying about that too?
Life in America
Despots and tyrants of old seemed to enjoy the challenge of a good fight. They would have been so disappointed at how easily the present generation has just rolled over and shown its soft white underbelly.
Confirmed reports in Columbus OH that Antifa is effectively using small team tactics beyond what local law enforcement was advised to expect. Ambush from vehicles, neutralizing tear gas, and provocative attacks from within crowds all happening. Molotov cocktails are thrown at police, and protesters have literally poured alcohol on cops and lit them on fire.
Then there’s this. A weird take when the Atlantic is launching the narrative for a color revolution and insurrection of the United States government. Not sure if they remember, but this resembles the Maoist Cultural Revolution many have been speaking about for years. Family denunciations are a key early element of the dehumanization process. It ends in violence, anarchy, and blood.
The tiny minority looting stores and burning buildings are being permitted to act out with minimal resistance.
“Democrats are letting their cities burn to get Trump out of office” is the weirdest flex yet.
So it goes.
Carla Jasper says
Yet, we do nothing about this. The people who support Trump and our right to duly elect a president, are being buried under relentless lies from the main stream media. Why don’t the people who love and support this America do anything about it? Because we are afraid. Because the people who are trying to tear this country down are damn scary and are being protected and incited by the radicalized portion of the Democratic Party. Huge numbers of people are allowed to destroy, maim, and terrorize some of our largest cities under the guise of righteous protest. Meanwhile, there are Democrat ran cities and states where elected leaders want to defund the police!
How do we get this country back? I’m not talking about party affiliation. I’m talking about Americans period.
Ray Otton says
Afraid?
No.
There’s “hot anger”, taking it to the streets. Always a loser because it’s emotion based and accomplishes nothing but to alienate those you need to rally to your cause.
Then there’s “cold anger” taking it to the polls. Sure, you don’t always win but you keep up the pressure when you don’t and come back to fight another day. All within the wonderful system our Founding Fathers set up.
So, have heart and stay in the fight.
