Willie Randall for Delegate

Willie began his career in the financial services industry on Virginia’s Eastern Shore in 1997. His goal is to help individuals and businesses achieve their financial objectives using appropriate investment strategies.

Prior to establishing an Edward Jones office, he served over 20 years in the United States Army and retired as a Major in 1996. Willie served in the Gulf War and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for service in a combat zone. He is married to Dr. Shirley Mason Randall, an Anesthesiologist, and they have a son, William Xavier Randall, who is also a financial advisor.

Willie’s educational background includes the following degrees: B.S. in Business Administration from Virginia State University in 1976; M.A. in Management/Public Administra-tion from Webster University in 1978; M.B.A. in International Business from American Inter-continental University in 2003; M.B.A. in Finance and Accounting from American Interconti¬nental University in 2006. He has also earned several certifications: Professional Financial Planner’s Designation from Old Dominion University in 2001; Accredited Asset Management Specialist Designation from the College for Financial Planning in 2003; Managing the Drucker Way at the Peter Drucker Institute of Claremont University in 2004; and Competitive Strate¬gies in Financial Services from Harvard University in 2006.

Willie was named Veteran Businessman of the Year for Hampton Roads in 2001 and Eastern Shore Chamber of Commerce Small Businessman of the Year in 2004. He also achieved the Edward Jones Client Service Excellence Award in 2010, the Edward Jones Frank Finnegan Award in 2012, and the Edward Jones Jack Phelan Award in 2013 and 2014.

Willie is serving or has served on the following boards: Northampton County Board of Supervisors; Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital Board of Trustees; Eastern Shore Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors; Virginia State University Board of Visitors; Onancock Rotary Club; Accomack-Northampton Transportation Commission; Accomack-Northampton Planning District; and Eastern Shore Regional Jail Board.

During his tenure on the Northampton County Board of Supervisors, he has been elected by his fellow board members to be Chairman twice and Vice-Chairman twice. He has helped produce four balanced budgets for the County. The County debt services have been reduced from over $40 million to about $30 million. The County refinanced its bond interest rates from 5 to 3%, saving the County $6 million in interest payments. The County’s two elementary schools have been paid off, saving the County over $900,000 in debt payments. His signature accomplishment was funding the universal Pre-K program for all children in the county. With this program, each child in the County is allowed to attend public school at 4 years old.

Also during his term in office, Northampton County’s unemployment rate has dropped from 8% in 2009 to 6.9%, according to the Virginia Employment Commission’s County Profile dated 10/21/2013.

A great resume but where does he stand on today’s issues? How does he feel about Obama’s presidency? About late term abortions? About abortions in general? About gun control & the 2nd Amendment? About taxes & supporting millions of people, even refugees & aliens who are not working? What does he think of of our culture? How does he think we should protect society from criminals & mad men & how best to protect the schools & the children? What does he propose to create good paying jobs on the Sore?
How does he feel about the AGENDA of the Democrat party?
I would also like to know how the rest of the candidates; Senator Lewis, Delegate Bloxom & whomever else wants to order me around feels about these same issues.
I once heard a quip about politicians saying what they truly feel: “Vote for me. I want to give you orders”.

@ Andy. I do sincerely hope that your letter is tongue in cheek. But I fear it is not. I assume you have access to the internet since you can post here on this forum. There is a creature out there called “A Search Engine” they go by several names “Google” “Bing” “Aol” “Dogpile” “DuckDuckGo” “Ask Jeeves” “Webcrawler”. I’d suggest using one or all to gather information on your candidate of choice. The part I fear is this: the questions you ask of this candidate are nothing more than hot button issue questions and really have nothing to do with the health and welfare and safety of his constituency. “What does he think of ‘Our’ culture? Really? Seriously?!? Obviously, the gentleman is qualified, now it is just a matter of finding out your hot button issue answers. So, go do your homework and decide for yourself. Personally, I wish I could cast my vote for your district. He sounds like a sound investment in the future of Virginia to me. And lastly, ALL politicians have an agenda. Not just parties anymore.

Mr. Randall posted his resume, which is impressive. Anyone who puts their life on the line for this country is to be respected.

However, he didn’t answer the question. Good strategy in a politician but citizens are looking for less obfuscation, especially in these “new media” days when the truth is much easier to find.

I took the previous poster’s snarky ( no need for that, BTW ) advice and did a little searching.

On his facebook page there isn’t a lot of info other than pictures of him with other politicians. I couldn’t find anything about his stand on Eastern Shore issues. There might be some info somewhere in the nest of snakes that is Facebook but 5 minutes in there gives me a headache.

I visited his website There’s a lot of boilerplate about making the Eastern Shore great again but not a lot of specifics.

I did find that Mr. Randall:

Considers climate change to be real
Wants to raise the minimum wage
    Favors universal pre-K
    Is pro Abortion

So, a liberal Democrat laundry list.

That’s fine, our differences make us a great nation but it’s not particularly helpful on a local level.

After eighteen years in Northampton my conclusion is that Mr. Randall runs a lot of campaigns in the hopes of being elected to SOMETHING.
