I believe the best of our young leaders lie buried in military cemeteries and what we have running the country now are what is left us, the dregs. A number of presidents served in the Civil War, at least one from WW I and about four from service in WW II. It seems my generation, the Korean Conflict and beyond has been left behind.
All you can say about what is going on in this country, especially in the last seven years, is that it is just plain insanity.
Our leaders lie to us and tell us how they want to make us healthier and safer and so we have a seat belt law and 23,000 gun control laws (of course, the felons all have guns), plus they have ruined our foods, fuels with their tampering. They care so much about our safety that they get 38,000 killed in Korea, 58,000 in Viet-Nam and more than 5000 in the Middle East.
What do we have to show for all the death, injuries and pain, as well as ballooning deficits that drain our treasury?
Our leaders care so much about our safety that I, a model citizen and war veteran, until recently could not buy guns and yet our government (ICE and others) releases violent criminals onto the streets and accepts millions of illegal “invaders”, some who are convicted felons as well as deportees who simply keep coming back. Only after a pretty girl in San Francisco got murdered by a deportee did it get any attention and then only because of Trump and O’Reilly. I was voicing this concern long ago and especially after three of our neighbors got killed in Keller by another deportee.
What does it take to wake up these worthless people who we have sent to congress? ISIL has said they were coming after our police and military, right here in our homeland; we set up the Marines and Navy woman by denying them the right to arm themselves and the President, as well as the Department of Defense still wants a disarmed Armed Forces.
Any idiot can see what will happen with emergence of drones and we are allowing them to be out there wholesale. They are already causing trouble near airports and we haven’t seen the worst yet. In my opinion, drones should be banned outright except for very limited numbers in the hands of state and federal law enforcement; other agencies on an as needed basis. They are invading privacy, interfering with airliners, doing things which are illegal. I believe they have the potential create another 911 or even a similar event as what happened in the Colorado movie theater by a mad man.
Our national debt will destroy us but our leaders keep pandering all just to keep buying votes. A million of us, I’m one, have left New Jersey because of the corruption, the waste, the ever increasing taxes, and insurance premiums. This is happening in the entire Liberal, big tax and spends states such as Maryland and New York. There are high income people fed up with the class war against the wealthy, and they are leaving the United States. Corporations too are going to friendlier places.
For years I have been saying how families are the backbone of this country and I have been warning of how our laws are destroying families. There are also consequences, and we have seen them, when there are no fathers in homes. We see this in Baltimore where the kids do not want an education, no male role model, no work ethic, no learning right from wrong and what morality is all about. Two parents in the home, a mother and a father, are important to teach the kids how each behaves and what their roles are. So I’m a sexist? Not my fault. Dr. Sprague decided that in 1931 when he told my mother, “It’s a boy!”
When I was young, I hatched goslings, chicks and ducklings, and when one of my geese sat on her eggs she had no idea of how to be a mother and how to put the young under her wing and how to protect and care for them. It is the same with people. You learn what a mother does and what a father does by having a mother and a father and observing what they do.
If my dear parents would come down from Heaven and see what this country has turned into they wouldn’t believe they were in the right place. They had to leave school and go to work, were loyal Democrats and worked hard; very religious and excellent citizens with dad serving in both World Wars.
We need someone or some event to bring us back to reality, make our streets safe. Maybe someday, we’ll learn to live within our means.

Thanks Vincent. Sometimes you think you are all alone out there especially when your “representatives” don’t even answer your comments. Just this morning I sent an email to Wayne saying how job one for Obama should have been jobs but instead he & his puppets enacted Obamacare which is a disaster with workers (my son) losing their health insurance and people losing their jobs. After I sent the email I tuned in the news & saw where they had riots overnight in Fergurson, Mo. A reporter blamed the unrest on the lack of jobs among the urban blacks and especially the young blacks. It was said that the unrest will get worse nationaly. Every action Obama has taken in the last 7 years has killed jobs & he persists. Now he is killing the coal industry which will find more people out of work and Ky & WV losing serious tax dollars. When Obama gets the coal fired electric plants shut down and as in Germany the cost of electricity triples we will see retail prices rising along with taxes because stores & the government use huge amounts of electricity and we will see people being laid off and manufacturing plants moving to Mexico or China. Obama had a great opportunity to use his bully pulpit to tell the American people the value of family life and how to gain the skills to get a good job.
When I was in high school I worked half days in the Prudential Insurance Company at the minimum wage which was 60 and later 65 cents an hour. At that wage the company could afford to hire a wet behind the ears kid who would make some mistakes and the kid had a sense of belonging, learned a lot of work skills & rubbed elbows with some very smart & high-up executives.
You don’t need to be a rocket scientist or a neuro surgeon to figure the end result of the reglations and taxes on business just as you know what will happen if you park your car on a hill without putting on the parking brake or shifting to “park” and if you are smart you will do both.
