ABC News anchor Linsey Davis, who co-moderated the presidential debate between Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris, has admitted there was a motivation driving the decision to fact-check Donald Trump.
In a new interview, Davis confirmed that she and co-moderator David Muir fact-checked Trump because of concerns involving President Joe Biden’s performance at the June 27 debate. It was that debate, of course, that sent concerns about Biden’s cognitive decline into the stratosphere. And those concerns apparently motivated Democratic Party leaders to force Biden to step down as their party’s presidential candidate. Davis notably used passive language in her remarks. “People were concerned” — but who, exactly? “Statements were allowed” — but wasn’t it a debate between Biden and Trump in which both candidates made statements for more than an hour?
In the debate this time, Davis was responsible for a memorable — and controversial — fact check.
While the candidates were discussing abortion, Trump alluded to the fact that some states — seven states, in fact, including Washington, D.C. — have zero legal restrictions on abortion. Trump even hinted at Minnesota’s extreme abortion policies, using his classic Trumpian vernacular, and referred to Ralph Northam’s horrifying comments about so-called post-birth abortions.
It’s all true. And yet Davis chose to fact-check Trump.
“There is no state in this country where it is legal to kill a baby after it’s born,” she interjected.
Technically, it’s true. Killing a baby after birth is murder, and murder is illegal. But Democrats like Harris refuse to state whether they support any restrictions on abortion. At the debate, Harris was asked whether she supports restrictions on abortion, but she dodged the question completely.
The question, then, is this: If a person doesn’t support any abortion restrictions, does she believe abortion should be legal under any and every circumstance and at every gestational age?
The problem with Davis’ fact-check is not only that it provided false cover for Harris and Democrats, but that Muir and Davis fact-checked Trump only. Harris spewed numerous falsehoods and lies, but most viewers did not know this because the moderators chose not to call her out.
The one-sided fact-checking, the moderators’ repeated interrupting of Trump, and the framing of many questions led to accusations that ABC was biased against Trump.
Davis’ comments to the L.A. Times seem to confirm that ABC sought to ensure through editorialized fact-checks — which themselves were not subjected to live scrutiny — that the Democrat on stage did not have another disastrous debate performance.
To that point, Davis — who is a part of the same sorority as Harris — acknowledged that she is aware of bias accusations. However, she ignores them.

They claimed they did not have the resources to keep them. This same class of people wants an economically struggling central Ohio town to take 20,000 with open arms. Endorsements by Bush-era crooks keep flooding in, and Democrats keep welcoming them with open arms.

Wait, so the people who rolled back all if Trump’s policies and wrote 100+ EOs on Day One MAGICALLY decided to follow this one thing left behind of Trump? You have to be an absolute brainwashed lemming to believe anything Kirby (and the lamestream media) says about it being on Trump.
I have an awareness of what I will call the “presence” of American presidents going back to Harry S. “The Buck Stops Here” Truman, and coming forward through Eisenhower, JFK, etc., to the present time, and here I am talking old-fashioned terms like dignity (the state or quality of being worthy of honor or respect; a composed or serious manner or style) and decorum (behavior in keeping with good taste and propriety), two essential presidential qualities Kamala Harris is sorely lacking of, along with an intellect (the faculty of reasoning and understanding objectively), and for those reasons, I have to say that Kamala Harris is the most unpresidential candidate to come down the pike in my lifetime.
She’s like watching a second-rate comedienne in a cheap comedy club somewhere, with her histrionics (exaggerated dramatic behavior designed to attract attention) and cackling, as if to her, everything is a great big joke.

And why should I care or be upset upon walking into a room to be confronted with a roomful of people who don’t look like me?
Why Kamala Harris thinks everybody should look the same as everyone else eludes me, as it seems quite irrational to think everybody should look the same as everyone else.
SO LET’S MAKE HER OUR NEXT PRESIDENT!

And I like the part in the other video where Kamala says she “worked behind the scenes” (working out of public view or in secret), which is to say, off the reservation, to get some transgender person the medical care Kamala Harris thought that person deserved, when her job was to enforce the laws as written, not as she arbitrarily and unilaterally thought they should be written, especially with respect to spending taxpayer dollars on transgender surgery.

Last night’s presidential debate between Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump featured some highly questionable — and outright bizarre — claims.
One of the most notable moments occurred when Trump alleged that immigrants are eating people’s pets, likely leaving many viewers concerned.
“In Springfield, (migrants are) eating the dogs,” Trump said.
“The people that came in, they’re eating the cats.”
“They’re eating… they’re eating the pets of the people that live there.”
This claim mirrors accusations made by Trump’s running mate, J.D. Vance, who previously alleged that Haitian immigrants in Ohio were stealing and eating cats.
However, Springfield city officials, including the city manager, told USA TODAY there is no evidence to support claims that Haitian immigrants have harmed or eaten any pets.
An incident did occur in Canton, Ohio — about 170 miles northeast of Springfield — where a 27-year-old woman was arrested in August for allegedly killing and eating a cat.
However, the woman was not a Haitian immigrant, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer.
Nevertheless, these claims may spark further debate on whether such actions are illegal.
Is it illegal to eat cats and dogs in the United States?
In the past six years, the U.S. government has enacted legislation prohibiting the consumption of cats and dogs.
The 2018 Farm Bill, which includes the Dog and Cat Meat Trade Prohibition Act, bans the import, export, and slaughter of cats and dogs for human consumption.
While this law makes it illegal to slaughter cats and dogs for food at the federal level, exceptions exist for certain indigenous religious or cultural practices.
However, it’s important to note that other pets, such as rabbits and guinea pigs, remain legal to consume.
Former President Trump signed the bill into law on Dec. 20, 2018.
What’s the penalty for eating dogs and cats?
Under the Dog and Cat Meat Trade Prohibition Act of 2018, individuals caught violating the ban on the slaughter, transport, sale or purchase of dogs and cats for human consumption face a fine of up to $5,000 for each violation.
This federal penalty applies to both the import and export and the domestic slaughter of dogs and cats for consumption.
It’s unclear if the woman in Ohio received a fine for the violation, but she was charged with injuring animals, prohibitions concerning companion animals and disorderly conduct.
