You’ve probably heard the outrage over Trump’s Big Beautiful Bill: “They’re slashing Medicaid!” Cue the social media hysteria, the alarmist headlines, the tearful TikToks. But here’s a radical idea—how about we actually read the bill before we condemn it? And maybe realize this is a throwback to the 1990s era Bill Clinton-style policy, you know, the policies that created one of the finer moments in recent American history.
Because when you take the time to look beyond the bumper-sticker slogans, the much-maligned “Big Beautiful Bill” is not a villain—it’s a lesson in fiscal sanity.
Let’s unpack just a few of the key items that critics have labeled as “heartless” cuts to Medicaid.
Cut Number One: Citizenship Matters.
This provision saves $35 billion over 10 years by ensuring that federal health programs serve legal residents and citizens. In plain English: if you’re here illegally, you don’t qualify for Medicaid. That’s not radical—it’s standard practice in most countries. And ironically, opponents of this provision often insist that undocumented immigrants aren’t receiving these benefits anyway. So what’s the issue? If that’s true, this change should be a non-event. Instead, it restores trust and reinforces basic eligibility rules that most Americans already assume are in place.
Cut Number Two: No More Bailouts for “Bad Debt.”
This saves another $42 billion by ending Medicare coverage of what’s known as “bad debt.” Here’s how the game works: hospitals charge Medicaid patients inflated rates, knowing that when those patients can’t pay, the federal government (read: taxpayers) will cover up to 65% of the unpaid bill. It’s a racket. This bill says no more. If you skip out on your portion of the bill, it’s no longer the government’s responsibility to clean it up. And without that safety net, hospitals lose the incentive to artificially hike prices. Taxpayers stop subsidizing phantom losses, and the market regains a sliver of honesty.
Cut Number Three: “Site Neutrality” Levels the Playing Field.
The largest savings—$148 billion—comes from a simple idea: hospitals and clinics should charge the same price for the same service, no matter who’s paying. Currently, Medicare and Medicaid are routinely billed more than private insurers or cash-paying patients for identical treatments. That’s absurd—and indefensible. This bill would fix that, ensuring fair pricing for everyone. Who could possibly be against that?
Together, these three provisions account for over $200 billion in projected savings. But mention that number without context—“$200 billion in Medicaid cuts”—and people lose their minds. The outrage machine kicks in. But once you dive into the details, most Americans would nod along in agreement.
That’s the problem. We’ve become allergic to facts and addicted to feelings. Too many react to soundbites, never stopping to question whether the headlines match the contents. And in this case, they don’t.
What we’re looking at isn’t cruelty. It’s common sense. It’s policy that preserves the integrity of government programs while protecting the taxpayers who fund them.
So before dismissing this bill as some draconian attack on the vulnerable, take a moment to read it. If you do, you might just find yourself agreeing with much of it.
But…
Let’s take a moment to marvel at the Olympic-level mental gymnastics of the radical Left.
On one hand, Rep. Pramila Jayapal is out here screaming about her unwavering commitment to abortion rights… no matter the circumstances. Translation: she will never stop fighting to make sure babies can be killed in the womb at any stage, for any reason.
But wait! Just a few scrolls down her feed, suddenly she’s outraged that a woman lost her baby because she didn’t get prenatal care. Now it’s a tragedy. Now the baby mattered. Now it’s ICE’s fault—because they didn’t do enough to protect the very life the Left says isn’t even a person yet.
You see what they did there?
This is the game they play:
Babies are a “choice” when it suits them.
Babies are a “tragedy” when they can weaponize the story against law enforcement or conservative policy.
It’s never been about truth. It’s always been about power. Narrative control. Manipulation. Emotional blackmail. They twist logic, rewrite moral standards, and treat human life like a political pawn on a propaganda chessboard.
This isn’t compassion. It’s exploitation. This isn’t consistency. It’s hypocrisy. And it’s not just dishonest—it’s evil.
You don’t get to cry foul over a lost baby’s life while proudly championing the right to end millions of others in the womb. Not if you want to be taken seriously by anyone with an ounce of integrity.
This is why we fight against these people. Because the culture of death always ends in lies, confusion, and the destruction of everything sacred.
And, by the way…
DEAR LEFTIST DRAMA CLUB,
You don’t get to lecture anyone on morality while comparing border facilities to Nazi death camps and pretending cartels are misunderstood social workers.
No, conservatives aren’t “cheering on” immigrants being eaten by alligators. That’s your cartoonish fever dream projection, not reality. What we are saying? Actions have consequences. Warnings have teeth. And fear of consequence is one of the oldest deterrents in human history (see: Proverbs 22:3 — “The prudent see danger and take refuge, but the simple keep going and pay the penalty”).
If someone chooses to enter a sovereign nation illegally, knowing the risk, that’s not “abduction.” That’s a personal decision. And you know what’s actually compassionate? Encouraging them not to make that deadly, exploitative journey at all. Want to avoid danger? Don’t break the law. Don’t cross illegally. Self-deport.
Also, spare us the “pro-life” lectures. You cheerfully endorse ripping full-term babies out of wombs, then cry about border policy like you’re Mother Teresa. Being pro-life means valuing innocent life, not defending violent criminals who rape, traffic, and kill once they sneak across a border we’re supposed to pretend doesn’t exist.
Your whole argument collapses the moment facts enter the chat. So maybe stop trying to paint law enforcement and national sovereignty as evil while letting actual evil run free.
In the first place, except in the case of medical emergencies, illegal immigrants were not allowed to enroll in Medicare /Medicaid.
Bailouts are a bad thing until they’re for the auto industry like Chrysler or Wells Fargo.
Your comments about conservatives not “cheering on” immigrants being eaten by alligators ring false when you say that liberals cheerfully endorse ripping full-term babies out of wombs, smack of hyperbole, and shows your true colors.
I have problems with the radical left you disparage, too, but I have the same disdain for ‘conswevatives’ like you who lie to support their vision of America and are not really conservatives, but just blue noses who want to inflict their mean-spirited agenda on others.
Where are you getting your information?? In fact, adult Illegal migrants get healthcare aid via Medicaid funding in sanctuary-states California, New York, Colorado, Illinois, Minnesota, Oregon, and Washington State, and in GOP-led Utah. The newly passed bill will exclude roughly 1.4 million illegal migrants from the nation’s Medicaid program. This will ultimately lead to many of those illegals self deporting, and will help ordinary Americans by nudging up wages and reducing rental costs. It is an economic blow to blue-state leaders in 14 states who subsidize families of illegal migrants to help inflate their consumer and real estate economies, which is why the left is howling and lying about it.
Note: Poor Chad, I mean Shad. Not the sharpest tool in the shed, and he can’t spell.

Spot on. Thank you.
I would add a historic analogy. Those who follow the democrat party hatred and fear are like the citizens of Okinawa who were told by the Japanese that Americans were horrible evil people who would torture them so they killed their children and committed suicide. The fears about the legislation should only be those who are perpetrators of fraud, waste and abuse. Hmmm?
