Each new season appears to bring with it a new Harbor Development Certificate application for Lot 19 and the Harvey Building, part of the Cape Charles Yacht Center at the Town Harbor. November is no different. A Harbor Area Review Board application has been submitted for the construction of decks and a handicap-accessible ramp at the Harvey building, and at the proposed new bath house. A Harbor Development Certificate for a new bath house was previously awarded to the owners of the Lot 19 parcel. This month, the applicant is presenting the identical bath house design, only closer to the Harvey building. According to staff, the “Harbor Development Certificate process found in Article III, Section 3.9.I of the zoning ordinance does not allow for a modification to an approved Certificate, so this is treated as a new application.” The application was approved.
At the December 1st Town Council work session Planner Larry DiRe will presented the staff summary report, and on December 15th the Council will vote on the HARB’s recommendation to approve the Harbor Development Certificate.
