Hi, I’m Jonas and I am ALL puppy! I’m a boxer/bully mix little boy. I love everyone I meet and show my affection by being very fresh. I seem to be ok with other dogs but have far too much energy to be around cats.

I should be ok with older children, but again, my energy level is high and I can get pretty excited when playing. I’m a sizable 5 months old, weighing 20 lbs and will be a solid medium size when grown.

I’m neutered, have started vaccines and dewormings, and also heartworm prevention.

In August of 2005, the SPCA Eastern Shore rededicated itself to our true mission- to provide a safe haven for animals in Accomack and Northampton Counties on Virginia’s Eastern Shore. For many years the SPCA had served as the housing facility for the Animal Control divisions of Accomack and Northampton Counties. After a consultation with the Humane Society of the United States, our SPCA Board of Directors felt that the true mission of our SPCA was being overwhelmed by our obligations to the two counties. Due to space considerations and the constant influx of stray and feral animals, adoptable animals were unable to be held for longer than the legal minimum. In July of 2004, the counties opened the new Regional Animal Control Facility for the purpose of housing the Animal Control function of the county governments. Our SPCA has been able to successfully place 98% of the animals seeking shelter with us. We continue to work with the new Regional facility, drawing animals from them to place for adoption. This is truly a co-operative effort by people who care deeply about the welfare of pets in our community.

Hey there, I’m Pepe and I’m a Rat Terrier/chihuahua mix neutered boy. I’m pretty small, weighing only 12 lbs. and I’m only 4.5 years old. I let the Chihuahua take over at times and can get a little grumpy, so I’m not suited to a home with children.

Preferably, my new family will know, and love, chihuahuas with all their quirks and bad reputation. I’ll make an excellent family member for the right people.

I love my squeaky toys and often run to get it when anyone walks by my kennel, and I parade around with it so proudly. I’m pretty much house-trained, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative and on prevention.

Hey, I’m Patches and I’m a Shih Tzu/Terrier/Chihuahua mix, around 8 years old. I’m a small girl, weighing only 10 lbs. I’m a fiesty gal who is better suited to an adult only home. I started out pretty scared here for the first few days, but settled right in after that and have been a nice little gal. I was going out with small, older gals like myself and did just fine around them.

I have a grade 2 heart murmur and tested positive for heartworms. I was able to be spayed without complications, though. I’ve started antibiotics, for the first step towards getting rid of heartworms. But, I’ll stay here, at the shelter, until after Thanksgiving, at least.

I’ll need a special home that understands I’m cute as a button, but have the personality of a Chihuahua. I like to go out for walks and I’m pretty sweet after I get to know you.

Hi, I’m Jasper and I am a 1-year-old chihuahua mix neutered boy. I’m pretty small, only weighing 10 lbs. I seem to get along with small dogs but haven’t been around larger dogs or cats yet. I can be a little nervous, so I won’t be a good fit for families with children.

I LOVE my toys and try to take one everywhere I go, even outside. I also love food! I can sometimes be found sitting in water bowls here. I have started vaccines and tested negative for heartworms.

Hi, I’m Louise and if you’re looking for a laid-back, calm dog, I’m your girl. I’m a terrier mix, fairly small weighing only 30 lbs. I’m around 5 years old.

I love to be around people and have lots of love to give. I go out in a group of dogs here and don’t have any problems. I haven’t been around cats or children yet.

I’m already spayed and up to date on vaccines. I tested positive for heartworms and have started an antibiotic before getting treatment at the beginning of August.
