GOSSIP: Citizen reporting, image sent from their iPhone on Mason Avenue.
“How does the owner of Blue Heron Reality get away with pulling straight in and not get a ticket? Could it be because of his name?Evidently it’s not what you know but who you know in Cape Charles.” -sent from iPhone.
And More, this was sent in by the actual owner of the car, “This is an example of why you should never listen to gossip. I am the owner of the car. I am not the owner of Blue Heron Reality and I DID get a ticket.” There you have it.
First let us thank you for advertising our building. Just to clarify this car does not belong to any of the Blue Heron Realty Owners.
Note: We know! Read the updated post, and this was reader submitted, which is why we posted under gossip.
Well next time report it!
….and further more if you buy a house from us and get a reversed parking ticket we will pay it for you.
Note: You read the offer here first folks!
What is the real gripe here? the car is within the white parking lines, is it because he pulled in ?? Was he supposed to back it in? If so, someone ought to rethink that parking law. Not like there were not other spaces so what’s the beef?? Has the Eastern Shore forgotten it’s heritage? Is the no more grace or mercy to be found?? Saddens me to hear of such minor bickering coming from the Shore.
I’m the Groom from the wedding, and late last night I wrote an email to the Mirror, not sure if it will make it up but we will see. We did buy some property in the 700 blk of Tazwell and will be building a house in a year or two. My wife and I would like to take the time to say thank you for standing up for the out of town family. The wedding was fantastic ( although I would be greatly biased) and obviously we love the town enough to move to Cape Charles with our five children. My one regret is that I’m noticing a very large division between the City Government and the people and that should never be. The Government no matter how big or small gets its power from the consent of the people, they are not subjects to be harassed and robbed of money to fill city coffers under the guise of Safety. As a 20 year Veteran of Local, Federal and Law Enforcement on a International level when I see this type of respect given to Citizens ( local and from other jurisdictions) I’m disgusted. We paid our fines and I can look the Chief ( who wrote the tickets) in the eyes and know he’s not the type of Officer I have any professional respect for, but have run into way too many times during my career.
People, please chill. Reverse angle parking is the law. Don’t get mad at officers for enforcing the law – they are doing their job (you don’t want them to just selectively enforce the law, do you?!). We get tickets in D.C. regularly for forgetting about this same rule; there, oddly enough, reverse-angle parking starts at 2 p.m. in some spots.
If I pull in straight in reverse angle parking in Cape Charles, I hope the Chief or any other law-enforcement officer tickets my ass.
