Northampton County, Va. — The Northampton County voter registrar on Thursday released the final, official results from this year’s election, confirming a clean sweep for Democratic candidates in all statewide races on the local ballot.
In the governor’s race, Democrat Abigail Spanberger carried the county with 2,833 votes, defeating Republican Winsome Earle-Sears, who received 2,469 votes. Spanberger led across most precincts, solidifying a strong Eastern Shore showing in her successful statewide bid.
For lieutenant governor, Democrat Ghazala Hashmi also secured a countywide win, collecting 2,899 votes over Republican John Reid, who finished with 2,583.
The closest contest among Northampton voters came in the attorney general race. Republican incumbent Jason Miyares was edged out locally, earning 2,648 votes to Democrat Jay Jones’ 2,798.
The results underscore a continued shift in recent cycles, with Northampton County voters once again favoring Democratic candidates in statewide contests.
