For the last several seasons, Coach Gorman at Northampton has been building a strong soccer program that has been the talk of the state. Granted we don’t have the largest budget to drop into our program, but we do have a hotbed of super talented players. This week was mixed for the Yellowjackets as the Varsity won twice while the JV squad dropped 2 in a home & home battle with New Kent.
The varsity boys won 4-1 on Tuesday night in Eastville. Noah Leffel had a hat trick and Byron Ortiz added a 4th goal. On Friday night at New Kent the boys varsity destroyed the Trojans 7-1 with Gabe Webb in goal for the yellow jackets. 2 goals from Arturo Gildo. Byron Ortiz, Noah Leffel, Brian Terron and Billy Martinez had 1 goal apiece. The jv boy’s lost a close defensive battle 1-0 to New Kent in Eastville on Tuesday night. On Friday in New Kent the JV team lost another close battle 3-2. Joe Curry in goal. The scoring came from Kevin Ortiz on a nice penalty kick and Edvin Hernandez.
