ONANCOCK, Va. — The Orchestra of the Eastern Shore will open its 2025 concert season with a lively program featuring works by Haydn, Vaughan Williams, and Milhaud under the direction of Music Director Amanda Gates. Violinist Kirsty Barnett Green will be featured in Vaughan Williams’ beloved The Lark Ascending.
The program includes Haydn’s Symphony No. 82 in C Major, nicknamed “The Bear,” and Milhaud’s playful Le Boeuf sur le toit, alongside Vaughan Williams’ soaring English pastoral masterpiece.

Two performances are scheduled: Friday, Nov. 7 at 7:30 p.m. at Market Street Methodist Church in Onancock, and Sunday, Nov. 9 at 4:00 p.m. at Hungars Episcopal Church in Bridgetown.
All concerts are free and open to the public; donations are welcome to support the orchestra’s community performances.
