  1. Though I was unable to attend, I am thankful for the presentation of this article of this meeting in the Mirror. It seems that finally and at long last, some logic and enlightening science was offered to the public and discussed. The article mentioned the attendance of farmers and I would have loved to have heard their questions about the uses and effects of wastes as fertilizer. It seems Dr. Gurian-Sherman gave a fair and balanced assessment on the over use of these wastes. I especially was happy to read that a resident of Somerset County spoke. They are directly dealing with this issue today. But, I was wondering, how many members of the Board of Supervisors were there? The article did not mention them. How many representatives from Perdue and Tyson were there? Again, no mention. So, I do have to ask. Is the issue of a possible and highly likely mass pollution event, spread throughout Accomack County, so unimportant that these two factions didn’t show up to represent and debate their side of the issue? Or are you Shore folks so unimportant, they couldn’t be bothered? Am I the only one seeing this? Personally, I would get on the phone and blow their phones up and send massive amounts of email this week. It appears money in their pockets (or whatever was offered in this rancid deal) takes precedent over your children’s health and your well-being. This is a bad dream, Shore folks. You better start to wake up and fast.

    1. Citizens for a Better Eastern Shore notified Accomack County Supervisors and officials in the interest of all voices being heard. No supervisors or officials were in attendance. Thank you to Cape Charles Mirror and Eastern Shore News for covering this town hall.
